I want a Vampire CD32 .... And I'm being serious! :)

What I don't understand is that nobody ever build something like a "ACAcd32", an adapter that sits on the CD32 expansion board and that adapts it into a standard A1200 expansion slot... That would open up so many possibilities...

Oh but what about Vampire Walker ? It is most certainly a thousand times more urgent :)

So all both Walker owners can run them at 200mhz? Excellent! ;)  Put that weird mezzanine connector in the Walker to work.

CD32's a console, man.  What doesn't it do that you need the equivalent of a 200-300mhz 68060 for?  You're not going to use it as a daily driver.

So from what I have read, the A1200 version will take on the form of a normal CPU slot expansion, not the over-the-chip type like the A600.

Has anyone heard about what other features may be possible with the A1200 version?

I hope this will be done this way (if ever). People have Zorro/Mediator with many, many expansions already attached to this computers.

I really would be super happy to get "060" with 120 MIPS for my A1200 :) for $300. I think we all would be super happy :) and I really thing this is best solution to use for A1200.

I wish they'd make a board with just the chip, SD reader and a big I/O block or two and make the pinout for the I/O available.  It would allow others to make carrier boards for A4000 and CD32 versions.
It would also be good for the standalone system because already some people want ITX and others want one to fit their existing A1200 case.

I prefer my CD32/SX32Pro over the A1200, simply because it is a lot smaller.

That's a big part of the appeal for me too.  I have a mint A4000 keyboard here.  I wish I'd got an SX32 Pro when Eyetech were selling them for under £200.

Yes I really hope the Vampire A1200 will be compatible with the Mediator busboards, but I have some doubts though. This is because the somewhat "creative" solutions Elbox have done with the Mediator.

At least don't count on Jens (Individual) to pick this up, he's very open about his FPGA allergy... :)

I have no idea if he would pick up vampire, but I'm pretty sure he's not allergic to fpga's. I'm not going to spoil the surprise (in case it doesn't happen, and it's not amiga related anyway so it's OT).
