Looking forward to vampire A1200
« on: February 04, 2016, 06:05:01 AM »
Hope we get a vamp A1200 at some point. I was looking at some backups of my old A1200T/060/PPC@240 (sold years ago)... and would like to relive the magic.

I would also love to get my hands on a Vampire 1200.

But reality is that they still have a very big waiting list for the Vampire 600, and just a couple of guys building them, and then there is the Vampire 500 waiting list right after that, so this will take very long :(

I think the fact of a long waiting list is positive, it shows people are buying it

id like a vampire 1200 or even a vampire 4000 and i completely dont mind waiting for these become eventually available while 600 users are being served at whatever pace is possible to handle for the developers. you can still use amiga hardware there is in the meantime. you can even prepare a bit better software base in anticipation of returning higher end 68k popularity without needing fpga core at hand just immediately.

From EAB;

"A500/1000/2000 probably in spring/summer of this year and A1200 perhaps in autumn/winter."

The problem is that in the world, seasons occur in different times of the year depending on your location, so I havent got the slightest idea in what it translates to where I live or even what the person who told that phrase was referring to, as I dont know where he/she lives.

PS: Right now I am in the middle of the summer season.

I hope there could be Vampire A1200 that works with Mediator and/or A1200 Reloaded...

For A600 and A500 it is not that important IMO.

I want to be one of the first in line for a Vampire 3000T.  I think it should have been the first one made IMO.

Minimig was a fan project,picked up by Acube, so perhaps there could be a similar future for Vampire?

At least don't count on Jens (Individual) to pick this up, he's very open about his FPGA allergy... :)

Well, Jens could sell good quantity of A1200 if they are compatible with the Vampire.
The old A1200's are prone to die eventually, so a replacement might on peoples mind.
