Tell me about it, they ransacked my food cupboard in the kitchen a few times. Only this evening my roommate found a dead mouse on the toilet (?). It had a wound on it's abdomen. seemed like a pregnant mouse or something, big and fat.

Very weird though, it was just lying there on the middle of the floor. HTF can a mouse get wounded in a house without cats or mousetraps? (We do have some poison around though, but that's supposed to mummify the victims...).

Abdomen?

Might have found some dry rice, it expands inside their stomach and kills them.

 So dumping rice about the house would be a good mouse poison? :-) They don't seem to eat the 'professional' poison we put at strategic positions in the kitchen (like behind the microwave :-)).

So long as it's dry when they eat it, works like a champ. Kills birds too.

Yea, I know, it's kind of cruel, but it's safe around kids. :-)

Perhaps it was doing a Mr Creosote impression?

Yeah I know, I live in an old house too and the worst part is that it´s only 2km from the citydump.
Some houses has tinroofs but this would need a tinfloor.
The cat´s do their job reasonably well but once the mice gets into the house, the cats can´t catch them.
And a couple of years ago we had a hedgehog infestation.
Why can´t they place the garbage dump behind the cityhall instead? :-)

A snap-trap with a bit of burnt on pork is better, it kills immediately.
And no kid will dare touch it. :-)

Not the first time either, if you just show them one with a mouse in.:-) Because a god trap  decapitates the mice leaving the head hanging on to the body by just a bit of skin.
And it should be so sensitive so it snaps one out of two times when you try to put it down.

Last time I checked, some of the buildings in the center of the town were falling apart (var det inte samma hus som storköp ligger i?). That might be a suitable spot! :-D
