It could be another piece of hardware that prevents whdload from working properly; I admit I don't know much about the details involved, hardware banging I mean. Some interrupt that needs to be suppressed.

But for instance, in my startup-sequence I have lines that
disable graphics cards vblank if I press a key (GetQual). It took me a good while to figure that one out, but now I can put some notes about a game on my monitor and have it stay there while the native video goes to the TV.
So you have the strings in your palm. Do you know what they are for?

Hmmm....

long write to $7fffd

I bet this value is not randomly chosen.
Have you tried leaving BPPC running, but disabling fastram for WHDLoad?

To be honest - I have no expirience on this.

Good luck

I don't know what the connection is, but when my BPPC is plugged in and enabled, the following always happens:

1. Most WHDLoaded games fail with the "long write" error.
2. Neither of my zorro cards work (x-surf II and GVP SCSI controller)

When I yank out the BPPC or disable it, WHDLoad magically starts working and my zorro cards are happy again.

I'd like to emphasize that the BPPC is perfectly functional and stable, hours of MP3 or GLQuake do not crash it. Airflow is plentiful and connectors are clean. Just re-flashed it too.

Can anything be done about this? I'm considering selling the BPPC+BVision and going for a 030+graphic card combo.

I also have a lot of $7008 errors with the BTTR whdload installs. I tried without pcmcia and zorro but it still fails. I have a blizzard 1240 card. Could this be the problem?

My board didn't have the timing fix; is that important for running WHDload?

The packages on BTTR are kinda old. There's a chance that a new WHDLoad slave has been released since the BTTR versions were made. Download the BTTR archive and the WHDLoad package. Replace the slave in the BTTR version with the one from the WHDLoad package. Bugs may be fixed in the new versions.

After a bit of experimenting WHDload works a lot better now. Although my favorite game Turrican 2 is very unstable. First the music was too fast in the menu; I fixed this with NOCACHE tooltype.
Now I just have to fix the random crashes :)

Found out why Turrican 2 was running badly. It conflicted somehow with my Micronik busboard, even when all Zorro Slot are empty. Oh well Just played it till the end and now I will replace the busboard :)

I get the same error. Be thankful you can at least disable your BPPC! As an A4000 user it is a little more difficult for me to just swap to the old processor...
