A4000 CF booting problems
« on: September 22, 2015, 07:55:40 PM »
Hi everyone!

My A4000 (Ks3.1 + Cyberstorm 060 + Cybervision 64) had a 340Mb Hd that dies last month (not an Amiga fail, it didn't work on a PC).
I bought a IDE-CF adapter to replace the old HD but now it do not boot.

I test it with a 32Mb CF with a basic Wb3.1 (when it works i`ll install a 8Gb CF with SFS and three partitions) and it doesn't boot. When I switch it on then begin to read the CF, after a while thge power led blinks an restarts then a Guru Meditation message  (Error: 8000 000B Task: 08021B10) and start again.
With the old HD it booted with no problem.

When I boot from Df0: with a WB3.1 disk the CF is displayed on screen and fully accessible (read & write).

When I boot through Early Startup with no Startup-Sequence i can access to the CF content too (cd, list, copy...).

With the 8Gb CF i have the same problem.

anyone know what could be the problem?

Thanks

Make sure maxtransfer is set to 0x1fe00 for the cf partitions, and that you set it to "bootable" in hdtoolbox. i am not sure if a improper mask might also cause this.
from what you describe something in the rdb might not be right.
be sure to reformat it and install fresh after changes.

What Mechy said...

But...it is missing the 060 libs (and fake 040 libs) ? or did you install them??
