i just installed brilliance !!!
« on: August 26, 2015, 01:18:52 AM »
Dear Amigos:

I just got the brilliance painting program complete in the box,
from amigalounge.
The installation went fine, and now brilliance is up and running
in my amiga 2000.
I was very proud to plug in the hardware protection (joy port 2).
The minimum ram required to run is 2 meg, and that is just how much
ram I got. But that is OK, because I will use it just to make
one picture at the time, and need not more ram.
Now I have both deluxe paint 4 and brilliance, I am very happy.
My plan is to use both, just to have more fun.
Thank you amigaLounge !!!

Enjoy!  It's a great program.  Sadly I don't think it got the recognition it deserved, since it came near the "end" of the Amiga's commercial life.  :(

I used Brilliance V2 professionally for many years, it has some very powerful anim brush effects. It has a foreground and a background page so you can do quick swaps between the two, essential when making animations. It has great 24bit colour selection as well.

You will enjoy using it.... a greater paint program than Dpaint  IMO.

Az
Completely useless? I can always be used as a bad example

Brilliant ;)
Version 2.0 was better and didn't need the key. Don't remember if it needed more memory though...

It's great to get away from the key. This is a good program - I still use it on my trusty A2000.

I have version 2.  It has a non-standard Amiga interface, but I liked it way better than DPaint 5.  I use Brilliance to "stamp" my signature, which I saved out as a brush,  on GPFax faxes that I import into it, as one of my uses of it, and then save it out and fax it back with GPFax.

The HAM8 display has much less fringing and is virtually indistinguishable from 24 bit.

And its fast..on my 68060 A4000 anyway.
