A4000 Upgrade - Mediator VS Deneb

I too, had "tech" problems. I couldn't get the roadshow usb to work with usb sticks on my quikpak 060. Moved it to a bog standard 4000 and that was okay but had to drop to zorro2.

The xsurf100 by itself works fine in zorro3 and with the quikpak060... with that said,
it can be a good combo if your machine is compatible.

hah! mine is the opposite, the x-surf crashes the machine in z3, i tried it with many different stacks and all the latest drivers for it. forced to z2 it works,but of course the whole point of buying it was i wanted to use z3 mode.
why did you have to drop to z2 in the stock 4000?

Mechy is that using a the original Commodore daughterboard? I'm a bit concerned if the X-surf 100 is that unstable? Or any possible fixes?

I think the problem with Z3 mode is that the orig. A4000 has a Buster rev. 9 which had some Z3 issues.

i tried it in several stock machines with different accelerators including 3640's.. i have a dud card. its nothing to do with aftermarket boards etc.

the x-surf requires buster 11.

my poor luck, my 4000d has a buster 9 soldered to the motherboard. (sigh)
I was offered a 4000d with a socket for the buster, but it's not in as good a shape as mine...
