Dragster,

You will find all you need to know (IIRC) on this website:

http://www.starnet.com.au/davem/overclock/csppc.html

It is down at the moment. :-(

It's not as easy to do it as it is when upgrading an 040 MK2 to 060 MK2, but it's definitely possible. You will need some steady hands (or a machine to do the job for you) :-) and a good eyesight. Good luck.

If you can keep it as is for now and wait for OS4 to come out you will not need an 060. The Jit engine in OS4 wont even use the 68k CPU on the CSPPC cards. Its all PPC and can run 68k code using an emulated 060 through the 604e CPU. I hear it much faster then the fastest 060 available now.

@Acill

Yes, you're right... the intention on getting a CSPPC is to run OS 4 on it... so, the 68K chip wouldn't be used anymore... then it wouldn't matter if it's a 040 :)

thanks for the suggestion :)

@Dragster

No problem mate!! I just didnt want to see you hack up a good card and risk messing it up. If your looking for one I've seen quite a few on ebay.de these days. Its seems the Germans are getting rid of them in droves!!!
