Today I listed a stack of Amiga related stuff on ebay.

Also a real Commodore 1011 external floppy in really good condition - no yellowing.

Why is postage from Aussie so expensive? AU $51.05 to send the 2mb upgrade to NZ?

Try again, I had it set to a 2kg satchel, which must be expensive... Changed to 1kg satchel. Should be about 30 now, but thats what it costs!.. still expensive!

Is it Ebay or the local postal service that control the price? I usually buy stuff from Europe, China and US and avoid Aussie because of the cost of postage.

It is weird as NZ is right next door to Australia so I've always been puzzled by the cost.

Australia Post.. If I send < 500g to you its $10.55 (for postage, not including packaging and bubblewrap).

If I post 1kg, it goes to $21.15 (again, not including packaging and bubblewrap).

The packaging and bubblewrap actually cost a lot - I know, i just put 30 odd items upto ebay, and If I dont include that cost I end up selling everything and making zero money.. Ebay now take 9.9% - INCLUDING postage, Paypal are about 2.5% or maybe more.

I havnt weighed the package, but my guess is once its wrapped and packed it will be over 500g - so will cost me $21.55 + for postage.

Thanks for the info, tempted on the 2mb expansion for my Rev6 board but will see how it goes :-)

So the cause of the problem is Aussie post, didn't know the extent of the ebay fees either :-/

Could also list on Amibay, I'm sure the 2mb would be snapped up pretty quick and no fees, even if via Paypal as payer usually accepts the fees.
