The kipper RAM expansion works just fine without an adapter.
However, quite often the RAM expansion forces the cpu up too high for the keyboard to fit properly in place. It touches and lifts the keyboard up about 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch.
For some strange reason some keyboards and cases fit just fine, but others, not so much. Not sure how or which ones.
You don't need the adapter to use with a Megachip, at least not on a rev 6a motherboard. The rev 5 motherboard has things a little closer and the RAM expansion and the Megachip overlap for a few milimeters.
Indivision ECS doesn't have a problem with either the RAM expansion or the Megachip. I believe the cpu adapter may conflict with the Indi, but since I'm not using the cpu adapter, I'm not sure.
Another note.
If you're suing a ROM switch, you will probably want to lift the RAM expansion up a level as most of the switches are just too high to fit it all together (RAM expansion, Megachip, ROM switch).
Hope that answers your questions. If not, shoot another one over!
