Ebay listing of Amiga 4000t
« on: February 04, 2015, 03:01:48 PM »
So here is my issue. Ive been scowering the net trying to find an A4000t and I really like the AT version with the 060 in it. My current A4000d as many of you know is giving me more grief that its worth and Im not very good at fixing/replacing chips and such.
I came into a bit of money and this guy on ebay is selling a complete system but wont ship outside of the US. He has even blocked communication form buyers from outside the US so I can not even contact him.

Here is the listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amiga-4000T-Video-Toaster-Flyer-68060-with-monitor-/301516006171?

Anybody know this seller or have ideas as to how I can contact him?

Perhaps you can find someone in the US to help you with the transaction ?

Yes, thats an option. I just dont want this to become an inconvenience. In the end I will only deal directly with the seller for the money transaction through ebay so the seller will have to unblock at least Canadian buyers on the listing.
I have a cousin who lives in Denver CO that the Amiga could be shipped to but he does not use ebay or have an account.
I really only want the tower with everything in it and the keyboard and mouse so that would reduce the shipping cost a lot. I dont need the monitor or flyer drive case

Don't know him but I have seen this system specs in a post;  I suspect that he won't ship to the great white north because of the risk of damage from shipping (and no way USPS insurance will cover any damage above $50).

There are ways around these walls as I am sure you are aware.  If this is one of the 2 systems this guy bought for video work, he must of sold one, but look in the forums for 2 A4000Ts being offered in the same thread with a bit of history about them.

Use a proxy to at least shoot him a message?

Nice system, I would pack that sucker in a box 5x the size of the actual computer, if I was shipping it to Canada.  As an alternative: road trip!  ;)

Ebay uses your confirmed address to decide where your located and that can not be changed without messing up your profile.

My cousin comes up here often and sometimes drives so I would simply have him bring it up with him so thats not a big concern. But I fully agree shipping that across the boarder would be suicide given how  USPS, UPS and Fedex seem to handle stiff like this.

It's a nice system. I was watching it for the Drive In tower. I already own most of the other components so it wasn't an option for me.

Good Luck I hope it works out for you!

Sounds like you and OP should work out some kind of deal, since he only wants the 4000T and not the drive tower.  You could split it?  :)
