Vesalia does still exist. The same applies to Computer City (Netherlands) and KDH Datentechnik (Germany, as Vesalia).

Vesalia is good in terms of stock. You will get what you order, but...pray that it works fine because their customer service is IMO terrible. So terrible that they should be arrested. Almost as bad as DCE.

Pros: Good inventory
Cons: No after-sale support, unless I would assume you live in Germany and knock on their door.

I have to admit that Vesalia is kinda crappy in the subject of answering e-mails, however they do help you if you have any trouble after you buy something...

I bought a Cyberstorm MkIII from them, which after some correspondens turned out to be DOA, and so I sent it back to them. After 6 months, I got it back in functioning order... The long wait wasn´t their fault, since they sent it to DCE...

I have ordered from them 4 or 5 times, and their deliveries are always fast enough for me, about one week after i payed in advance. ( You can also pay on delivery or with Paypal, i think... )

@Orjan:

I'm in the same situation now as you were before.

Waiting for a DOA CSPPC card to be fixed at DCE which was sent there through Vesalia. I received it dead on the PPC side and after sending it back to Vesalia, instead of getting a working card back they decided to send the old one to DCE for warranty repair.

The trouble is though that now Vesalia won't reply to my e-mails at all regarding the status of it. I would be satisfied even with "Sorry, but no one is reachable at DCE at this time. We tried.", but I get total ignore from them.

Now, when I place a new order, I get a fast reply that requests payment within a day. They are really not fair. They can reply to that, and they ignore my warranty repair questions. :-(

@ x56h34

Have you tried calling them? I never have, but perhaps they are more responsive over the phone... Don´t forget about the time difference, though... :)

I've used both Vesalia and KDH...had no problems with either company.

Only used Vesalia the once...I had sent a number of emails regarding stock, only for them to be ignored.

After Christmas, once I knew I was getting an A4000T, I sent an email regarding availablity of the video and disk I/O modules for the A4000T...next day, an email reply. Placed an order and payment via PayPal...got the goods within a week.

I've used KDH three times...once a couple of years back for a CS.060 MK3, and recently for the Algor USB card, and then the Norway Ethernet add-on. Excellent service, and as long as you use the contact link from their on-line store webpage...excellent, and prompt email service too.

Amiga SuperBit in Spain has never replied to an email...and their webpage, I am sure, does not accurately reflect their stock...although I will stand corrected if they do have the CS-PPC boards in stock.

Here in the UK...

Power Computing are okay...but nowhere near as good as they used to be...and their response to email queries is tardy.

Eyetech are worse...and they are pulling out of the "Classic" Amiga market altogether now...once their existing stock has gone.

Analogic are very pricey, absurdly so...and the 9GB SCSI HDD I bought from them was not "new as advertised"...it was an obvious reconditioned unit...but still had the gall to sell it as new. Phoning their sales line...that was an experience...Basil Fawlty would have been proud. Needless to say, never used them since...and if I am ever unfortunate enough to require an Amiga related hardware repair...I'll strap it to my back and swim the Channel to France...

@Rob72

I too doubted stock claims at AmigaSuperBit.  I was after a 50mhz PGA FPU and they were the only people to claim to be able to supply it.  Was doubtful but took the plunge.  Took 4 months in the end to get the item.  They took a long time to answer e-mails but the replys were both friendly and constructive.  Considering that no-one else could supply this for me and the price paid , I was pleased in the end.  I would order from them again but people should be aware that it may take some time.

Have also ordered from Vesalia and received order within 2 weeks but only small easily providable bits and pieces - have had no need to contact them and so can't comment on this aspect of their business.

I've ordered a few things from Vesalia with no problems.  Although, their service over the holidays was a bit slow, but I guess that is the season.

Elbox has the best sales/support I've seen in a long time.  It's a shame that they don't have more products (although, they have all good stuff).  IIRC, I got my A4000Di in 7 or 8 days.  And, that was during the free shipping time!

I got ripped off by Power Computing though.  They stole ~$50 from me and refuse to answer emails regarding the item they never sent.  I contacted my credit card company and they said it was too old to file a claim.  That's what's bad about overseas shipping, if you wait 3 weeks to get something, you're half the way through the fraud claim window.  If it isn't in stock you're practicly screwed.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

Regarding Vesalia....

Has anyone been subjected to lack of delivery after payment?

Had ordered something nearly two weeks ago, and it hasn't arrived yet (I'm living in DK).

nope, i went there two times for a blizzard scsi controller. i got it and had no problems with it - BUT they are VERY unfriendly, especially the "mrs. boss".

i had to go there 2 times, because first time they had none of those availible.

i prefer kdh datentechnik, they are fast, friendly, and the prices are about the same as vesalias.

Vesalia are still around and seem to have quite some stuff left in stock.
I have bought various items from them during the last 4 years. Their delivery time ranges from ten days (Germany to Greece) to... umm it did get real bad once ;)

They also tend to include gifts in the packaging such as CDTV t-shirts (nice one guys!), Amiga pens, stickers etc.

They seem to answer only emails that refer to orders, not other enquiries, and even then they are a bit slow in aswering (4-5 days minimum).

I've talked to the owners (Oliver Does and his dad) over the phone and they seemed eager to discuss Amiga matters.

When ordering make sure you tell them to pack the stuff real well - last week I received an A1200 and they had crammed an A4000 keyboard in the A1200's box as well which resulted in a really bad scratch on the A4000 keyboard.

All in all I think they are ok (especially considering the state of the Amiga market) and I'll definitely order more stuff from them.

As for the rest, there's Amigis and KDH and some others. I did order some stuff from Power Computing a few years ago and they delivered pretty fast. A friend of mine though, received a dead A1200 from PowerC and they have not responded to any of his emails so far.
