file conversion from Amiga paint ILBM to Windows Jpeg
« on: February 19, 2004, 04:34:58 AM »
I have been trying to find a file converter program that will convert graphics which were done in Deluxe Paint as ILBM's to read in a windows environment so they can be converted to JPEG's or Tiffs.
Any suggestions other than setting up an Amiga with a windows emulation and then converting to Jpegs?
Thanks,
Millard

PerfectPaint will do that conversion for you, but that requires a graphics card.
I think Cloanto's PPaint will work too, and that should run on any Amiga. Check Aminet, I think it's freely distributable now.

I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8 (and version 5)...
load directly with that and save in any of the other twenty formats...

(transfer the pictures via crossdos onto floppy...and read with paintshop)

Irfanview
Has a batch conversion/rename feature. Piece of pie to use.

Oh, and it's freeware as well.

I run gfxcon from the Aminet, it's the best program ever, since no good conversion programs exist for Windoze I use it in WinUAE all the time.

GFX con is a 200K program that can convert between loads of different types of gfx format, at the click of a button. it does nothing else. It's great. It is freeware, it does not need to be installed, it uses the T: dir if it needs extra memory... it's simply better.
