Seriously! It's not Amiga, but since there seems to be a facination with things military grade I thought you all would appreciate it:-D

Wow.... that's one ugly laptop, huh?

Would probably be great out in the field, though.  It would probably make a perfect on-site computer for a construction or land surveying company.  They wouldn't need big power, but need a machine that could stand up to the abuse and weather.  It sure does look rugged!

I could use one of those with Star Commander (with XE1541 cable) and my 1541 & 1571 drives, as newer type parallel ports don't usually work with it.

Cool! Too bad that the over-sea shipping would cost more than the machine itself, or I'd bid on it! :-D

I had always wondered if that sort of thing existed!

I remember reading about some scientists who worked at the south pole, and had to replace their notebook every couple of weeks due to the cold - I think they started using luggables instead.

Well, if you want a modern ruggedized laptop, then take a look at the Panasonic Toughbook line..

200Mhz, 48MB RAM, 3GB HD, 8XCD, 33.6 modem, 10" color LCD Touchscreen, Win95 & handwriting recognition software.

This is a very neat laptop! It's unbelievable how sturdy this thing is! You could LITERALLY drop it or run it over with a car without much worry! It's a damn brick!

I have a Dell Inspiron 4150 laptop with Win-DOHS XP (read: eXtra Poop, eXtra Problems, ).  It works great when Win-DOHS isn't messing things up.

What's wrong with one of those?
Get it, unwrap it, boot it up, format the hard drives, flash the bios, put the OS on a seperate partition [all of them NTSC of course] and you've got a brilliant computer :-D

I've got a Dell Latitude, and I've never had any problems. In fact, I bought it after seeing a friend's Latitude. I would buy a Dell again....
I like Amigas

The Inspiron series consists of low-quality crap. never buy it. The Latitudes is generally quite good.
Some of the inspirons are basically the same as other Latitude models - Dell just sells them for twice as much, and all they add is a little memory and perhaps a larger hard drive... :\
