Problem installing Radeonhd drivers
« on: November 12, 2014, 09:01:36 PM »
Hi, for a while now I have had problems installing the latest radeonhd drivers. The installer begins then stops and a message comes up. Can't remember what, something to do with a sound library.

Anyways, I have got round this by just copying and pasting the files over the top of the previous ones in the kickstart file.

However, after downloading the latest driver (1.2) from the amistore I got the following:

No disk present in device icdo process: 204 "AMIStore"

The installer opens but when i click to proceed is just dissapears

I looked in the drawer where the driver should be, and it is there but there but as an iso. I guess i need to unpack it to a cd or something? Can anyone help please?

Hi

Do you have the command mountdiskimage in your C: directory?

This allows you to mount the RadeonHD 1.2 ISO without burning it to a CD

Yes I do but when i open it it says required argument missing. I dont know what i am doing with it anyway. I may have to copy it to a pc and use an iso burning program.

Why is it as an iso anyway and not like the others?

Hi, not trying to be a smartass here, but one of the first steps in troubleshooting is recording exactly what the error message is.  I work in IT, so I get so used to telling people "take a screenshot, or write it on a post-it note, or hold your phone up to the screen and take a picture with the camera... anything!" but it's a lot easier if you can document exactly what the error message is.

Anyway, I'm sure AmigaKit will get you sorted out in no-time, and I'll just go back to my grumpy old man corner, haha.  ;)

Install diskimage.device from os4depot. It comes with a GUI, so you should have no trouble mounting the ISO.

I know Ive been spoilt with Windows install where everything you need to get a program to run is included in the software package you are installing.

So if X program purchased/downloaded from Amistore requires some .libs or or whatever to be installed, it should be part of the download and installment process....?

It's all part of update 6 as standard. Maybe the OP's system is not installed correctly. AMIStore will mount the ISO on the desktop automatically, extract all the files and then copy them to the directory.

Please provide me me more specific info so I can help solve this.
