No it is not because of that matter. It is because the lack of Fairness regarding news items.
Three in a row is to much

Maybe you didn't write the news item as proper formal press releases? It seems this is a selective and subjective requirement? I believe this was the reason to why two of my news items wasn't approved. I had to post them as regular forum posts instead...

They told me that the last 2 times. This time i copied this:
http://amigaworld.net/modules/news/article.php?storyid=7205

Is this not good enough? A.org has a edit feature so I could fix typos later anytime.

@Mods
i can still post here : ) - delete and greet please

EDIT:
and if i release AEROS 3.9 for i386 why isn't it enough to write "I released AEROS 3.9 at my app store". Maybe the last 4 words where to much or what?...
Do I Need to make a whole Press release ?

@phoenixkonsole

To me it's a little unclear (to say the least) of what "as more formal press releases" actually means in practice, so let's have a look at an arbitrary press release found on the Internet. I don't know, maybe it's the date and location in the introduction? Maybe it's the "introduction to the subject for dummies" in the beginning? Maybe it's the mandatory "'We at [corporation] are thrilled to see [yada yada]', said CEO John Doe" quotes? Maybe it's the "Contact" section? Maybe it's the "About" section(s)?

All I know is that this (similarly written) MorphOS news item wasn't approved  while this and many others written in a similar fashion was, and constantly is. The former actually had some editorial work put into it, while the latter was a mere copy/paste of a changelog.

Overall, I get the impression that the "We are trying to raise the standards of news items here and encourage them as more formal press releases" works a little selective/subjective, or even random. A bit unfortunate IMHO.

Hi Niding

The last few weeks I have been working on the message queue and putting in the foundations for the chat system.  This week, a few distractions from the work: I am also working on PrismaControl software and I am currently exhibiting at the Play Expo show this weekend so cannot resume work on AMIStore until I return next week.

A lot more features are planned to be added to AMIStore but feature creep is always an issue.  I am pleased to report that the Beta testers have been very helpful in suggesting UI changes and better ways of doing things as work has commenced over the last year. So I am very grateful for their help :)

This is your first warning. False claims and rude behavior will NOT be tolerated.

Your Statement in this thread,
"Oh boy, more news items not allowed to post here. And EVERY time a news item does not get approved its for something that certain people have no stake in.

Its becoming pretty obvious that unless the right people have a financial stake in your project, they don't care to let you post news about it here.

This petty crap should end."

Sounds like complete and total bull%&$#?@!%&$#?@!%&$#?@!%&$#?@! to me. Why can't user's publicly ask why news items are rejected?

How are we supposed to know who refused to approve a news item?

Well there's an ARES II news item on the news page now, just scroll down the front page, so hopefully that means whatever the problem was has been resolved.

I hope so... But it looks like the staff here still seek to control what people are allowed to know...

A lot of press releases are perfectly formatted, written in the third-person like they should be (except for the quotes), and still aren't newsworthy. This is because companies have been using press-releases as SEO link-building campaigns, causing a torrent of PR spam. One of the little "gems" of advice that I have received, is to "publish a quality newsworthy press release every day." Yeah right! Generally you can have quantity or quality, but not both.

Being newsworthy should be the primary deciding factor, and not whether you've put it in formal press release form.

NOTE: None of the above is intended to reflect on phoenixkonsole's news items which I haven't seen, or on what basis news items are accepted/rejected here (I'm not involved).

i still wonder about so much hassle to make these few applications and few links available in another form.

I can understand your preference to see the effort to create this new app store placed elsewhere, when there are so many areas our community needs new or updated software.  But I think that this new app store is a valuable infrastructure building step, that will help some other developers, who do not wish to spend their own time marketing their software projects.  They can now choose to offer their software for free, or put it up for sale at an attractive online store without needing to spend any of their valuable coding time messing around with their own online sales site, so it should provide them with more time to work on future projects.

I take this new Online App Store as a positive step forward, but I am usually the kind of person who looks for the positive side of everything, and not dwell on the negative aspects, although I do recognize the pros and cons of everything I evaluate as realistically as I can.  I don't consider myself a fanboy who sees all news in our community through rose colored glasses, and I don't agree with all decisions being made automatically.

Edit:  As for the Off Topic complaints about moderation or approval/rejection of news items submitted to Amiga.org, the following Posting Guideline "Cardinal Rules" apply:

Members will not publicly question a moderator's decision.
All  moderation concerns should be addressed in a private manner, either  by  private messaging or emailing the moderator in question.

Censorship, or unfair practices used in the approval or rejection of any news items is a very serious accusation that I would like to clear up, or stop from happening in the future, so please contact myself or one of the other moderators with the specific details of your complaints, so any misunderstanding, or misconduct can be addressed and corrected as soon as possible.  I am not aware of any such behavior by any staff member of this site and doubt very much that these accusations are true, but I am willing to review any evidence you have, to resolve this issue.

what? where?

are you implying im any interested in the phoenixconsole one? im sorry to disappoint you, but im fairly not. if i need current amiga software, so far there is any, i simply download it from developer pages or aminet. i just doubt all that hassle will have any impact on the situation and that the effort would be better put elsewhere and so far i mentioned that, i have been proven right for almost anything i said. anyway, today i simply dont even think that it matters. so please go on with the appstores or whatever.

im not a coder, but think this is irrelevant. there are a great number of other much more pressing issues that dont get addressed. its like pumping a leak in a ship that already has broke apart. you may win some short time and not let people realize that they drawn.
