Sneak Peak at AMIStore on my X1000
« on: October 07, 2014, 11:17:25 AM »
Hi All,

I have been given access and full permission to try out AMIStore on my X1000, prior to it's release soon by A-EON Technology!

I have been trying it out for a while now, and written up a detailed sneak peak blog entry with plenty of screenshots of what AMIStore is all about and what to expect. It is exciting! :-)

The link is here:

I hope you find it interesting!

Catcha,
Epsilon

@Debaser

it's very nice, and matthew has poured a ton of work into this, also working with other developers to provide a sales platform that is useful for them. i'm very much looking forward to the public release -- it makes purchasing commercial software on AOS4 much easier and is very professionally done.

Is this going to be cross platform? I was hoping this was going to be an application that helped unity.

Amiga OS 68k and ppc.  PhoenixConsole is making his own app store which will support all Amigaoid platfoms.

It works on MorphOS too so I dont see problem from that POV. But generally I dont see much chance for success for this or phoenixconsole's app store because developers do not want to ask money for their developments or already have a distributor. Probably even more difficult on AROS where open source sentiment is (naturally) strong.

There are both paid and free programs there, the option is for the developer to decide.

I think using AmiStore may look very good to developers who would rather write code than handle marketing, sales and distribution.

In any case, I look forward to trying it myself once it has released.

I am sure you do because you have written new software you are selling through AmiStore :-)

It is right to be excited about it. Idea is right, so is execution.

Upon first glance, it looks like Radiance is simply a bundle offering of a few of the other products on Amistore. Possibly a starter pack type thing.

Is there a developer Interface? Is there drm?

Must be hosted on A-EON's servers.  The developers of some of that software don't even have there on websites.

I guess there'll be more info about how to get your software featured once it's released.

I doubt there's any DRM.

@pheonixkonsole

if you have something you'd like to sell via amistore those questions would be best answered by A-EON themselves. perhaps a quick email? :)
