X500 Evo
« on: August 04, 2014, 11:07:46 AM »
Update on the X500 Evo cases.

White X500 Evos.

Inside the box:

An A4 instructions sheet, the assembled case with a 16x PCI Express flexible riser card, the X500 Evo key ring, some fixing clips.

I've installed the 2x50mm plus one 40mm rear and one 40mm side silent fans, they can be removed easily, flipped over to change the airflow etc...

The black silicone mounts for the fans can also be removed if required.

Also installed a white 3.5" USB card reader and slim Samsung DVD-RW with white bezel and slim SATA cable, both fixed to two custom made brackets.

The entire case can be completely disassembled, down to every component to adjust/modify anything you want.

If, for example, you require to adjust how tight the sides are all is needed is to relax/screw the bolts, if you want to replace the LEDs or the power switch (this is hidden under the right hand side of the cover) you can do that by removing the low to medium strength hot glue I've used etc...

The mechanical keyboard is fixed with two custom supports, these are also vertically adjustable with four screws underneath.

There are 6 mounting holes for mini-itx/flex atx motherboards and 2 extra mounting holes for half mini-itx boards (FPGAArcade Replay for example), these are also vertically adjustable.

Initially, due to the size of the mechanical keyboard I only envisaged the use of one SSD/HDD (don't use HDD...use SSDs!) but I managed to find the space for a second drive under the keyboard. It might be crowded for two SSDs and cables but at least you can decide where to position one of them. :)

Like the X500 Plus the Evo also has one expansion slot for low profile cards, custom made low profile bracket and L shaped fixing clamp and clip.

The keyboard has a four pin internal USB header. Make sure the keyboard is connected the right way, usually red is to pin number 1.

The fixing screws are black, you can change them if you want or spray paint them in white.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

White X500 Evo cases with mechanical keyboard and full set of white and beige Amiga keys with user's own language layout:

Francesco - Italian - Sent
Marios - dual Greek/American - Sent
Bernat - Spanish - Sent

John - Danish - Ready, delivery address required
Trevor - U.K. - Ready, delivery address required

Horst - German - Ready, waiting courier collection

Juha - Finnish - Ready, waiting courier collection

Most Black version are nearly ready, still waiting for the second batch of black keys, each one with its own language layout...

Expect an email from me asking for your delivery address soon.
It takes about 3-4 hours to assemble one...a bit more patience. :)

Thank you.

Dual Greek/American language layout.

Thank you very much. :)

I've made 25 Evo cases. 11 white, 9 black and they're all been booked.
The remaining 5 are going to be a sort of very Limited Edition in beige. 2 have been booked already.

I'll show some more photos as I finish them. I'm completing the white ones first with the following language layouts: Danish, German, Spanish, USA, UK, Italian, French and Swedish.

:)

Ok, but how does one book them? I see no ordering or pricing information on your web page, only photos and videos.

Forcie,

All the white Evos and also the black ones have gone unfortunately, I'm showing what they look like in this thread. The only ones left are the Limited beige Edition (3 out of 5 left I think), I'll take a few photos and post them here soon. Thanks. :)

I can be contacted via email: amigarulez@hotmail.com

Hm, so you will not state a price unless in it's in an e-mail? Strange...

Thanks Yasu. They're expensive to make, unprofitable, time consuming and hard work but if there is enough interest the answer is YES! (I love the Evo). :D
