so I guess the other companies that made A4000Ts (Amiga Technologies, Quickpak) only used 880k drives?

Yes . AT at least.

Was it normal for A4000 desktops to come with a HD floppy drive?  Mine has one (which was really handy for copying ADF images from a PC before I got USB).
A2000, A3000, 2 x A1200T, A1200, A4000Tower & Mediator, CD32, VIC-20, C64, C128, C128D, PET 8032, Minimig & ARM, C-One, FPGA Arcade... and AmigaOne X1000.

As far as I can tell from My NOS A4000 desktop, No, it was a option. I have actually only run across 1 or 2 HD floppies over the years on the A4000D.

Both the A4000's I had back in the day (First an '040 model, then an '030 model that I put an '060 and RTG in) came stock with the HD floppies.

I actually bought the A4000 '040 new, then a friend had an '030 one with a 4091 with a large drive he offered to trade me for my '040 model.  Since I was going '060 and RTG anyways, I took him up on the deal.

Mine came with 2x HD, but bought it used.

I just wanted to remind everyone again about the "WIN AN AMIGA" Contest. It has been extended until December 31
http://amigalounge.com/b265.html
Also new stock is being added to the for sale list daily, and a few new blogs have been posted
http://Http://amigalounge.com
The A4000 with the Warp Engine refurbish is 99% complete and the second last blog has been posted:
http://amigalounge.com/b382.html
I still have the 2 A4000's left for sale, one NOS and the other with the Warp Engine! I also put the TekMagic '060 card back up for sale after a lot of people asked. It is priced high, because I am not all that motivated to sell it, unless someone wants to pay the price.

i do have the one tower here, that the parts should arrive and it will be fully running and tested in the next week. This tower has been earmarked for one of the people that put a deposit down on one, but if you positively have to have the first tower and can't wait, you can buy this one "as is" or fixed for $5000 usd. Yes, the price is going up all the time, to take full advantage of the procrastinators, basically the longer you wait, the more money this unit will cost you, or it will be the first unit shipped to the first person who put a deposit down.

LOL, yeah I was thinking that seemed a bit steep.  I know you don't want to divulge your sources, but maybe you could partner with someone down here to help get the systems tested/running, if they're not able to get them to you in Canada?  Just a thought, would still love a pic of all these NOS & used 4000T systems.  Think it'd make an awesome photo, wish I could afford one! :)

wtf?

After meeting Glen in person (http://www.amigalounge.com/b384.html), I can honestly say he isn't getting rich. This guy is simply trying to make a living. He just happened upon a very rare and very finite supply of merch which will help pay the rent for a while.

I'm not surprised he put such a high price tag on that item. He is just testing the waters. I imagine we will all be surprised if he gets a bite. :D

LOL, thanks Steve,
before you all jump to conclusions, the $5000 and soon to be $6000 price is for that ONE and ONLY one tower I have here. That is not the price of the "regular" towers that are down south. I am just trying to take advantage of the "person" who missed putting a deposit down and absolutely, positively has to have the "first" tower available. The regular price of $2,000 and $1,500 for an "open Boxed" unit has not changed.
I am not making a dime off these towers, I am doing it to bring them forward to the community, so they don't end up on Ebay sold to the USA only for some obscene price "untested" and as is.
IF some one was crazy enough to Pay the $5000 for this "first" unit, the money would simply go back into securing 2 more units to be shipped to me and then tested by myself and offered for sale at the "normal" price.
If nobody comes forward and spends that crazy amount of money, it gets shipped off to the first person who put a deposit down for the regular price.

I thought I had made this Crystal clear in my blog post, but I guess I have to do a better job at explaining things.

I have been busy trying to make some changes to the site. I am just posting the 10 "newest" listings on the front page and a complete product list you can print out on it's own page now.
I have a few systems available for Pre order, and I am working on the A4000 Tower right now, so I should have more photos and a blog up on that for later tonight.
I also have a few items on sale to midnight Thursday Oct 2 MST.

It's Saturday, so stop on by and see the changes we have made in the lounge.
My awesome sever guy had built an Android app for me to take a photo with my tablet and it will instantly re size the photo, upload it to the server and build a add for the lounge. I just have to input a description and price. I know that means nothing for you guys, but it means fast turnaround in the future.
