mmm I don't like the new layout of the main page. I prefer polls on one side, not taking so much space as now.

For me the news block is the most important one, and now it has been eaten by other not so important parts. For example classifieds etc...

The description of the news is now too short, we have lost the "topic icon"...

I would like that news items took as much space as with the last layout.

The graphics used in the headers/title of the page looked more proffesional with the previous layout.

The antialias applied to the words of the sections of the title is excesive and makes the text look slitghly blurry.

I definitely do not like the colours and look of the new title.

Change at least the antialias effect and apply a small shadow so text is less blurry and different from the background.

And please change the main page and give more space to the news items.

argh and that "light" when you put the mouse over the text looks really crap. Can't you see clearly the light effect "cut" by the other blocks? don't apply the effect to the two dots!

IMHO the title have never looked so unprofessional

I preferred the old look by far.
The colours are awful. It looks LESS up to date than the way it used to be

Totally agree with Crumb. I won't comment on new features and technical issues as I haven't had the time yet to have a closer look on them, but I find the new style utterly ugly :(

The site looked much more professional before, and now it's very amateurish. There doesn't seem to be any graphical cohesion between the different parts and it's very messy. And just look at the main banner: 90% of it is used to diplay  some brown (yuck!) and blue horizontal lines :/

Please change the style to someting nice-looking or at least something closer to what it was before, if you don't have inspiration. Now I feel like I'm back to a late-nineties Amiga.org :(

Will take a while to get used to this retro look, don't care much for the header layout and colour but it still has some changes to go threw, i hope!
The rest of it does look quite interesting though.

"The site is better its just the color scheme i hate.
The new features are nice it will just take a little while to get used to its new layout."

Will somebody please point me to a listing of these NEW features. All I've seen so far is a new home page that apes all that I think is bad at commercial sites.

If the upgrade makes the site safer from hacking, great. If it has more features for those with the time to use them, fine.

I guess I'll link straight to the News page. I don't want to deal with the new Home page.
Best,

Bob Kennedy

I'm starting to like the look now.

Except the 'FORUMS' banner. That thing is ugly! (I think it's the font & size)

Argh ! I really prefer the previous look !

This new look is to much common ...

And the colours of the banner on the top of the page (with the A logo) are just too bland ...

Onions have layers ...

Actually, I think the new look is much more 'mature' than the old look.

Well, hello Mr. Kennedy.

I prefered AmigaWorld's previous look before it took on that chunky and garish OS4 titlebar theme. But anyway, a website isn't "better" just because it looks better. IMO, the content, the people, and the more balanced news here are far, far better than AmigaWorld's. I don't want to hear news from just one side all the time, or "can we have a port of this" and "let's petition for this" threads, or the obligatory "my 030 Amiga is faster than any PC!" threads. :-)
