Hi guys,
As we continue to grow, we are slowly moving out of the range of services that Xoops, PHP (or Post) Nuke, or other out-of-the-box Content Management Systems (CMS) can handle. Most were designed for small to low-medium size sites. As it sits, Xoops is taking up an average of 20% of the 1.3 Ghz CPU for MySQL at any given time.
As such, if I can provide the working domain, and the hosting and everything else, are there any PHP Programmers out there willing to join the cause of writing a new engine for Amiga.org?
I am a programmer by trade, but I'm not able to do everything. As such, I thought to initially develop a basic engine using another host and domain, then when ready, move it over here and replace Xoops on Amiga.org.
Steps
1) I have the domain(s) necessary
2) secure hosting?
3) get sourceforge project page going (I know nothing about this) including CVS
4) establish coding, filename, and directory standards (very little if any JS)
5) establish user authentication framework
6) start writing modules beginning with news and forums.
7) move data from Xoops to new engine.
xx) (when moderately ready and bug tested) go live.
Is there anyone out there in Amigaland who is up to the challenge?
