Want LCD TV/PC Monitor
« on: March 02, 2014, 04:48:08 AM »
I'm looking at buying an LCD TV or Monitor for my A500, A1200, A4000 and Game Consoles. They need to be able to play the old games and software, and I need to be able to buy them from around Melbourne Australia. Could anyone suggest what Brand, Model, location and or Stores I can buy them from. The A4000 has a Non 3D Cybervision 64 in it, what suggestion would people have for this ? thanks for any help.

I use a standard 22" LCD/LED Bush TV from Argos. They're surprisingly good, and can handle just about anything I throw at them (I had one at work and it's so good I bought one for home).

works for me

Only VGA and DVI?

I have a Benq M2700HD I bought a few years back for 625USD and I bought it just for consoles etc since it has most inputs I need:

It has composite (supports scart also), component, 2x HDMI, DVI (analog and digital), VGA, S-Video and audio input/outputs, it supports 4:3 even tho it's a 16:9 display you can also change image to not make old composite/Scart games to look to sharp and it remember setting per input.

I have loved that monitor to death since I can plug almost anything in to it, and since it's a computer monitor it don't have all that crap selling mumbo dynamic super duper image contrast enhancer jumbo features a TV has and instead clear picture and low input delay.

LCDs with all of the different inputs are disappearing fast.  Grab them while you can.  I have an Ario 21" with VGA, composite, HDMI, and component.  It also has a tuner.

ETC makes a 18" with similar inputs and tuner.  Both are powered by 12VDC instead of 120VAC ;).

If you can't find them new, try the various used, surplus, and Thrift options.

You can try one of these if you have an Amiga SCART cable and an HDMI LCD :http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SCART-HDMI-to-HDMI-720P-1080P-HD-Video-Adapter-Converter-3-5mm-Coaxial-Audio-Out-/300970860728?pt=AU_CablesConnectors&hash=item461342e0b8

I have an earlier version, without the separate dedicated audio output, but it works a treat.  A few Amigans here have the same.

I brought one of these, can't get it to display anything on the 2 displays I've tried it with.   I even brought a new SCART cable but it still won't play nice.

Well that sucks. Mine works both with my Panasonic Plasma TV and cheapie 23" BENQ LCD.  Out of interest do you have the new version or the older non-audio version?

Supplemented with one of these if the consoles have composite or S-video output.
