Ok I have done a full re-install of OS 3.9 and I have ran the installer from mmcd install all the relevant software and drivers along with all the correct library's but how do I configure it to show in Devs monitor drawer?

Do I need to install Picaso96 manually?

ELBOX says the slot does not matter, but you will find various opinions.

The instructions are confusing, but once you have run the Config program and rebooted, you need to run P96 using the Cybervision 64\3D card.  This will show up in the DEVS:Monitors directory; rename it to Radeon and do  "R-Amiga I" to get into the tooltypes and change the name here.  Save and reboot.  Then use P96 to attach and set up your screen sizes and color depths.

P96 is located in the Prefs: folder after the install; after opening it it will have a "dummy" board you can delete.  You will have 4 boxes on the top left; you will use the left-most ("New") box and drag it to one of three locations.  Dropping an item on the right most box (Skull+X-bones) deletes it.

1) Just below the 4 boxes on the left side you will drag the New box and drop it for the New Board Settings.

2) Right click the menus and it should say Attach Board To: and select under it "Board0: Radeon"  -- if it is not there either the Radeon.chip file is not in the sys:Libs/96/ directory, or in the monitor Information area you did not change CyberVision64/3D to Radeon.

3) Now with the board attached to a Settings in the First box, Drag the "New" box to the area just below the first one: "Resolutions;" here you type in the resolution desired (start with the default 640X480), and later drag and edit resolutions up to 1920X1080.

4) Now one needs to set the parameters for the video card: Drag you "New" box and drop it in the area on the right upper part.  The default settings may give you output on clicking "Test" in the lower right.  Here you will test and "Edit" the settings to get the output screen adjusted to your monitor.  The color depth "cycler" will let you select 256, 16K or 24M colors; the Pixel Clock will fine tune the timing, and in the edit mode the other boxes that deal with size of the screen will get filled in during a successful edit.   Unclick any "interlace" or "double scan" changes if you use my suggested settings.  Some color depths will not work if the Video card lacks enough memory.

As a help I have copied my settings:

P96 setup is tricky; the list screen modes and clock times are approximate, for a 60Hz monitor, and are monitor specific (not all monitors show all screen modes). The approximate size is listed for my Dell ST2310L and my Radeon 9200 Video card.

Picasso96 Settings -- For a 60 Hz Monitor

CLK: 29.82

Resolution: 800 x 600

In that case, check the two items i listed in "2)" above; if they are correct, then check PCIinfo to make sure that the Mediator recognizes the card.  If it does, go into the Picasso96 directory and located the "Debug" program.  If it shows the card as present, then it should work.  If not check all of your steps again, reinsert the card after cleaning its contacts.
