list of games that install on HD?
« on: January 21, 2014, 12:09:59 AM »
I am aware that WHDLoad makes it all possible; but I am not planning to buy it; I am not planning to find a pirate key for respect to the people that made it, so I will stick with the trial version.

Altho, I would like to install the games that actually have an installer...the problem is that I do not have the floppy but the adf files, so try them one by one will take forever. Plus I need to mount the adf on ramdisk, which involve time :)

Is there a list out there, with all the games that has an official installer for AOS? That would help me in grabbing only the adf of the games that I want, and carry them on my beloved Amiga :)

Thanks!

Thanks for thank link! I've been looking for a list like this since unfortunately Lemon Amiga doesn't provide any information regarding hard drive installable for the games.

Probably a dumb question, but why would you not want to buy it? A ton of work has gone into it, very useful utility, and you know, "supporting Amiga development" and all that. ;)

Save yourself a lot of headache and purchase a WHDload key. Its easy to buy and well worth it if ur a classic Amigan.

Isn't using the trial version all the time morally the same as using a pirate version? You're still using their work (and that's a LOT of work) without paying the price for it - it makes no difference to them whether you have to wait 10 seconds before the game starts.

In a list of programs with the best value for money, WHDload would be top, I reckon.

Isn't whdload piracy anyway, since the authors of the games don't get any money, do they?

Are you serious? Ofcourse it's not piracy, WHDLoad is shortly put a HD-frontend for loading games, anything else comes as extra.

The installers don't contain any data or files from the games, you have to supply the game disks during installation, alternatively download finished installations from sites like whdownload.com.

You could also argue whether copying old games constitutes as piracy or not. These games have not been commercially sold for 20 years, and no one's business or income is getting hurt from us copying and enjoying the games.
