Help! anything about a 3000T

I have a 3000T I am trying to ressurect, powersupply won't come on key lock switch is broken,  I really need an Operators manual, I am stuck

Thanks for all the links, still looking for just the manual that came with the computer right out of the box, seems like I can find the service manual all over the place, in fact I have the original service manual.

Jameco.com sells the key switch and you can Google a new PSU.  You may be able to find a copy of the original users manual online, but it won't help get it running.

Not trying to be snarky, but how 'bout giving the guy a link to order or a part #, or some actual useful information?  I've seen this comment before and obviously the guy is still struggling to find one.  If I knew it I'd tell what it is!  :whack:

the 3000t had a spring loaded reset built into the keyswitch. i.e. like start on a typical car that springs back.

although replacmeent switches without this will work,it will not have reset on the key(no big deal).

if it helps the keyswitch won't make any difference on the 3000t working, all it did was lock the kbd/mouse and had reset. you can power the machine and use it w/o them. sounds like the typical bad psu. trouble shooting for all amigas is pretty much the same, start with the psu and work your way through.

I ordered the most likely key switch from jameco, it wasn't even close.  I tried another vendor, it looked good on the picture, but still wasn't close.  I've searched and searche and to no avail have not found any replacement key switches.  The Power Supply unit seems to be culperit, but once again, hit many dead ends in trying to find any replacements, schematics, or substitues.  I am about ready to throw it in the the garage and forget about it.  If I could find a good substitue power supply that would be good as well.

So let me get this straight
 
The switch was wired with two pairs of wires.  What did the switch do?
 
No key in - Was it just locked off, or was the key board and mouse locked
did it need the key to power up?
 
So Key in had a "C" by the notch,
Then a "0" which I presume was the on position
Then a "R" which was a quick reset but for the computer.
 
So what you are saying is that the key whether wired up or not should not stop the unit from starting up.  If that is the case then it must be the power supply that is bad.

I assume the Key-switch had an Open-Closed connection (Closed locks out the keyboard and mouse) and a Reset connection built in (closed causes a hardware reset). I've not run across such a combination; good luck on finding that one... But no, they have no bearing on the PSU; rather than find an exact replacement have you thought about: 1) having that one repaired (it is old school tech and a TV repair place should be able to fix it), 2) replacing the insides with a new, and smaller PSU, or 3) finding a similar "box" and grafting the wiring harness?

These voltages are found on standard AT power supplies. Tick is not found on modern PSU’s and a motherboard jumper (J300 on an A2000) sets it to internal
