RTG games and Demos in full screen?
« on: December 30, 2013, 04:41:57 PM »
First, all the best for 2014 fellow Amigan's :)

Whenever I open RTG compatible games or demos on my A4k they always open at about a quarter of the screen size, which is kind of annoying. I've had a search and don't seem to be able to find a way to make them display in more of or all of the screen? is this just the way it is or am I missing something?

Software tried - Adoom , Payback, Bubble heroes - Various Demos.

Running an 060 Amiga 4000 with a CV643D , OS3.9 and CGX4

you are probably missing the required screenmode !
since you have CGX4 just create several screenmodes like 320x240 (or 320x200) and 640x512 (r 640x480).

whats your WB resolution ?

WB is at 1024x768 , the screenmodes are in CGX.
For example - When I open ADoom I can select , say 800x600, and it opens at that resolution. It's just fills about a quater of the screen though.

I think that ADoom is opening with a screen size (not screen mode) of 320x200.  I think you can change the size from with in the tool types I know at least one version let you set it up this way (read the docs).

Also like Lionstorm said you should set up some other modes from within CGX prefs because some of the games will need 320x200 320x240, 640x480 etc and also ADoom might not run as smoothly as it could at 800x600.

Ok, looking into screenmodes.... let's see.

@novacoder - If I wanted to play doom on a PC I could. Playing it on a PC emulating an Amiga isn't what I'm after at all. Thank you but, no.
