Our A1200/A600 drives electronically work with the A500, they just need the eject button modified to work with A500- this is something we can do for you on special request.

Hey AmigaKit...you have not answered my question!! Please tell me...can I use the A1200/600 disk drive into my A500 disk drive case? Can it fit correctly or are there required severe hacks to make it work? If it can fit correctly why in your website you did not say A1200/600/500 disk drive?

looks like a great way to give the old 500 a nice speedup without breaking the bank... when does the 68060 version come out?

:p

As a matter of interest, When can we see some modern accelerator for classic big box units?

Wouldn't mind an 060@100 Mhz with some fast memory and a sata controller for my A2000 and A4000T.

Easy dude. I'm sure the bezel and the button need to be swapped out. Try a friendly mail instead.

The only person designing accelerators at the moment is Jens Schoenfeld, and he's not interested in 68060s for various reasons... particularly because a new one would almost certainly lose him money and take years of his life. Interfacing a 68060 into an Amiga is far more difficult than a 68030.
If you need an acccelerator of that speed get one on eBay or Amibay- it'll be expensive but no more than a new one would be.

Back on topic....

Congrats to AmigaKit and Jens who I believe designed this rather ingenious piece of kit! Great for rejuvenating an A500!

Nice.  Came in cheaper than I expected.  Hope something similar can be done for the CD32.

Obviously missed the recent Elbox announcement, the recent pics from all those German groups and their homebrew accelerators, and a few others... but hey, competition is a good thing, I'd be more concerned is the Amiga market big enough to sustain all this development?  LOL

I have a Cyberstorm Mk3 060 in the A4000T already, the one for my A2000 died. The thought of a 060@100Mhz, faster bus and ram is attractive, with SATA would be killer.
