« on: October 21, 2013, 03:15:41 PM »
Hi Guys
Is it normal for an amiag 3000 2.04 kickstart disk to report as NDOS on my amiga 1200?  I tried to find the .adf in the so called "TOSEC" but couldnt really find a page that had this. I had it bookmarked once and lost it can any one help me with a .dms or .adf of the disk (not the rom) Thanks

There is no filesystem in the super kickstart disk, so it probably does show up as NDOS. Never tried to be honest.

The A1000 kickstart disk shows up as DF0:KICK.

Don't worry. It's not meant for an A1200 anyway.

You might get DF0:NDOS instead of DF0:KICK if the SuperKickstart disk is high density. I don't know if it is or not, though.

So long as it works in the A3000 it should be fine.

You should be able to copy it with a good ol' diskcopy command. You can generate a new disk with this thing, although you need the special A3000 versions of the ROM images (they're larger than normal Kickstarts and contain some additional code).

Hi everyone,
I have an A3000 and it's still my primary computer (of course i also have pc :) ). So I remember everything about A3000. So ...
The A3000 with SuperKick 2.04 first needs the Floppy Disk named "Kickstart 2.04" (I will upload it later). Then needs the "Workbench 3.1" ,then the "Install 3.1" ,the "Locale 3.1" ,the "Fonts 3.1" and finally the "Extras 3.1".
Now the tricky part is how to use the kickstart with Hard Disk. Well the A3000 is using SCSI Hard Disks. You can put from 50MBytes through 3,5GBytes Hard Disk with the 50 SCSI Connector.
As I wrote at the beginning you must start with the "Kickstart 2.04".
The Amiga 3000 is having fuctions whikle booting. When you start the A3000 press the two mouse buttons together and you will prompt from where to start the Kickstart - and the 2.04 and the 1.3. Now you insert the "Kickstart 2.04". After the Kickstart is loaded the A3000 flashes and again you press the two mouse buttons together. Now you will have a menu with Boot Options.
So... after the Kickstart ,the A3000 Logo 2.04 appear showing a animated disk inserted to a floppy. Put the "Workbench 3.1" and wait until the WB is loaded. Then insert the "Extras 3.1" and use the "HDToolBox" tool to configure the Hard Disk and the partitions.
VERY CAREFULL !!!
The AMIGA 3000 with the SuperKickstart need the first partition of the Hard Disk to be named "WB_2.x" (without the ""). Any other named will be rejected and the Hard Disk will not boot !!!! After formating the partitions and installing the Workbench again ...
BE VERY CAREFULL !!!
... put the SuperKickstart file to the "Devs" directory !!! The Amiga 3000 with HD needs the Kickstart to the "Devs" directory for the System to read the Kickstart first without floppy.
Then everything is running great. You will have Workbench 3.1 booting. You will upgrade to Amiga OS 3.5 (download the CD from torrent) and then Amiga OS 3.9 (again from torrent). I prefer putting the 3.5 and then the 3.9 because these have different libraries. I need them both.

Sorry for the long Post.

Keep AMIGA ALIVE ._
