Big Red Adventure
« on: October 18, 2013, 10:06:58 AM »
Hi, I've got this game on CD-ROM for my Amiga. Is there any way I can play this game off HDD without using the CD.

I mean can I just copy the items off the CD and transfer it to the HDD?

many thanks

Yepp, make a ISO of it, put it on hard drive in a drawer, download this http://thomas-rapp.homepage.t-online.de/Start.zip (credits to Thomas) and extract in the same drawer.

Then edit Start and change "AmigaOS3.9.iso" to your ISO name, then hit start and you will get a icon on your workbench.

Thanks

I don't suppose you have a conversion tool or know where I can obtain one so I can convert zip to lha on my PC before I extract it on my amiga

thanks

Ive always been fond of VirtualCD (found on aminet). Lets you mount isos with a simple, easy to use gui.

As for converting zip to lha, why not just use unzip on amiga, or extract on Windows then copy to Amiga?
Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

Okay I managed to extract the files in windows and transferred them across to the dir which the ISO is in. How do I edit the start icon?

If I click on the icon and go up to information on the tool bar, is there some part I have to edit or do I have to use another program to edit it

Thanks.

What part of icon would you like to edit? If it is about changing tooltypes or startup tool, then you can do it from the Workbench pull down menu that you already know. If you wish to change the icon's type or picture it holds, then you need to use seperate software. I recommend Iconian. There is also Icon Edit.
