What is castAR?

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/technicalillusions/castar-the-most-versatile-ar-and-vr-system?ref=search.

castAR is a projected augmented reality system that displays holographic-like 3D projections right in front of you. Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope sparked our imaginations of what might be possible in the future by showing R2-D2 and Chewbacca playing a holographic 3D chess-style game. It has taken nearly 35 years since the film was released for this technological dream to come to reality, but with castAR, that reality can be yours.

It looks very interesting but I can't really see a technology that requires the user to wear glasses being that successful.

Maybe one day will get some kind of holographic lazer project technology that will be glasses free but I guess by that time we'll all be hard-wired to the Net anyway ;)
Life begins at 100 MIPS!

Nice Ports on AmiNet!

I can see many tabletop gamers loving it.  And it's funded fully now (surprised they only wanted $400k in total), so we can see how it does.

The price is also pretty good. And it can only go down in the future as the technology evolves - so I'll wait a while myself.
