Altera PLDs

Does anyone have experience with these?
They can be had at really low prices and look like they could replace several discrete components/glue chips.

I haven't used Altera parts before, but I've used Xilinx CPLDs for a few projects. They're great. Cheap, easy to use, and you can replace a fair bit of discreet logic with one chip.

Yeah, they look useful.
Think they would work to replace a group of 74LS chips?

They would work nicely for that.

Thanks.
Can't hurt to cut chip count, sockets, real estate, etc.

I ordered a dozen MaxV CPLDs awhile back for around a dollar a piece. They're easy to use but you have to actually know what you're doing to make effective use of the space. Just when I was starting to think I was learning something...
