News from MacRumors quoted below.

Amiga Games today

announced that it is planning to re-release some of its classic games for iOS later this year, "in time for the 2013 holiday season."

Originally introduced in the late 1980s, the Commodore Amiga PC offered a variety of 16-bit games. ranging from Captain Planet and Lemmings to Shadow of the Beast. Amiga Games does not specify which titles it will revive beyond a note  suggesting the games will be customized for iOS, but the company’s  titles will include support for iOS 7 game controllers.

Could we want on ban of Amiga Inc (todays Amiga Inc) and its daughter companies? :-) Anyone with UAE can run them too, and I believe UAE is avail on all mobile phones, too.

Come on guys, get serious.  If someone had ported Angry Birds (can't think of a Mac specific game) to amiga os, nobody would complain.  Apple hatred is so patently absurd, people sound like charicatures by constantly criticizing it or suggesting it must somehow hurt them physically to be forced to read the word Apple or Mac or have to hear about it.  Get real.

I, for one, am pretty excited about this, and would love to be able to use some Amiga games on my iPhone / iPad.

Nothing against Apple or Ipads .. just haven't been motivated to use it much :kitty:

Well if Angry birds got ported to amiga, then it would be amiga news, but I wouldn't expect it to be mentioned on any mac site.

This news is as relevant as a check board painted VW

So, if something involves Amiga hardware, it qualifies as Amiga news, but if it only involves Amiga software, suddenly it's not?

Ok, let's not talk about anything UAE or emulation related, because it may run on Apple hardware and that makes it the dreaded Apple news that hurts us to read.

CommodoreUSA already has a forum OFF the Amiga.org front page. All you need to do is add Amiga Inc., Amiga Games, Writers Group Film Corp and the other companies having nothing to do with the Amiga you want to remember TO that forum.

Amigaworld handled it with an all inclusive forum called "Amiga Inc. offshoots", seen on this list:

http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/

"For discussion about Amiga Inc. , CUSA and other products and companies using Amiga brand licensed from Amiga Inc. NOTE: Topics posted here will not be listed on the homepage"

oh I'm real and I'm serious when I say I have been anti Apple products since 1982 and they've done nothing since then to make me want to change my mind...If I want to hear about Apple news this would be the last place on the net I would come to find it:rant:

Yes, but...nobody is talking about an apple product launch in this thread.  This isn't the new iPhone review, or iOS, or anything.  It's about some games from the vintage Amiga era (which I'm sure we can all agree is one of our favorite topics to discuss on Amiga boards) being ported to modern, common hardware.  The fact that so many people are adamant that they can't be forced to read the word "Apple" or the world will come to an end is absurd.

Anyway, the title of the thread specifically says iOS.  It also says Amiga.  So, if you like Amiga, but are terrified of the Apple cooties that you'll catch if you must read anything Apple related...skip the thread.  Done.

You guys sound like my basement dwelling neckbeard brother in law that nobody likes, with his unfounded anti-Apple elitism.  Give me a break.

I would say this is quite relevant. Still wonder how the legalities are...doubt the original devs get a cut.
