Just received my EasyNet package!!!
« on: September 27, 2013, 07:37:27 PM »
OK, just had my NEW EasyNet Ethernet Card & Software delivered about  an hour ago. I was using a Realtek USB ethernet controller thru Trident  on my A1200. Consistently downloaded  from WHDownload.com @ an average  of 3K/Sec. That's right 3K! Not to mention you have to restart Trident  everytime you fire up Genesis so that the USB stack picks up the IP  stack. It all worked for downloading games but was quit slow!

Now, I'm on EasyNet. It took about 10 minutes to set up (after rem'ed  out my old AmiTCP directory - of course). I downloaded a 2MB game from  WHDownload.com @ 100K/Sec SOLIDLY! UNREAL! A small 200K game downloaded @  300K/Sec!!!

Amiga.Org's virtual site use to load in about 10 minutes - now about 5  seconds. I can load pretty much any website (after setting the buffers to 4MB  - wish I could set to 8MB) now. I can even load LemonAmiga.com in about  5 seconds! CRAZY! :) And I have my screenmode set to 256 colors! HA!

And iBrowse is awesome using tabbed browsing!

Thanks AmigaKit! This gear ROCKS!!! :laugh1: I can't wait till EasyNet Pro comes out!!! Well, back to surfing the web on the A1200!!!!

PS... Does anyone know of an internet speed test site that will work in iBrowse?
