think Lisa is fried on my 1200
« on: September 09, 2013, 02:45:56 PM »
my 1200 was happily playing a demo while I was working away in my office when all of a sudden the screen went black.
rebooting didn't help so these are the things i tried so far:

- disconnected and reconnected my Indi MK2cr- no luck
- disconnected my Subway USB- no luck
- hooked up Amiga 1080 & still no luck

all this time the 1200 is booting up fine will all leds working including HD lights.

anything else I can try to get video output going again?

Get a new Lisa?  It certainly doesn't sound good.

Could be Lisa, but could also be the video DAC or surrounding circuitry.  I had an A1200 that lost its composite (blackscreen) but retained its RGB.  I fixed it by replacing the DAC.

Hmm but if it was the DAC I'd be able to get at least one video out working I would think ?

I think if its the DAC, then the scandoubler you're using should bypass that anyway?

I reconsidered getting an internal clip-over scan doubler because I'd fretted that it might cause lisa (thats the chip it clips over, right?) to overheat - do the chips actually get hot under those sockets?

@ Coolhand

ya that's what I thought too.

Lisa & the IndiMK2cr do get hot after a full day of being on but I have 2 fans running in my desktop (one on case, other on my 040) so the airflow is pretty good
