What's wrong with that pic?  It just shows Jesus and his chicken nugget.  Nothing blasphemous about it.

A4000D with CSPPC, Cybervision 64 and a Flicker Magic flicker fixer. A4000T Toaster Flyer & CSMKII. All systems completly retro and classic and mostly used to do geometic art as in my avatar.

eBay obviously don't give a crap.

I find it amusing that eBay will limit the amount of money one can charge to post a DVD (for example) but allows a moron to start the auction price of a broken Amiga 1000 at $2,000.

If eBay wants customers in the long term they would restrict such idiots from being able to list at that price in the first place.

Problem is Ebay has no idea what some of these things are worth. Some of the first Apples might go for $20,000 if a fully functional AAA prototype were to show up that could be worth thousands.

People can sell their Amigas for whatever they want to ask for them!  You don't have to buy it, so get over it.

That being said, I look at every single one of these auctions and I would definitely pay this kind of money for an Amiga 1000 with the original Boing Ball logo - which was the badge the Amiga 1000 was being sold with before Commodore purchase the rights to the Amiga.

I have a mint MilSpec Doomy edition Amiga 2000 I'm thinking of selling.  Should I include a chicken nugget with it? ;) I'm sure I can find one that looks like something.  Hahaha

Wow! The going rate for an A1000 is between $70 to $140 depending on how many are available. I can't believe he is serious about that price. No real photos. No peripherals or original box.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I thought the A1000, hence the badges were produced by Commodore only after acquiring the rights (Sanyo in Japan was the contract manufacturer).

Back around '97 I got a few of those boing ball badges from Dale Larson's Intangible Assets Manufacturing. It was mentioned at the time that Commodore changed their mind and dumped the boing ball in favor of the rainbow checkmark, leaving boxes of unused boing ball badges up for grabs.

I don't think I'll tell this joker on Ebay that I bought my Amiga 1000 complete in its box at an Amiga show in St. Louis a few years ago for $50. And no, I'm not selling it. ;)

I contacted the seller with the $2000 A1000 and tried to explain to him about his pricing.

He responded saying he had researched pricing and found the $2600 unit and that's what he based his pricing on.

Sent him another email telling that unit was the source of much derision here in the Amiga community.

Guess we'll see if he takes the hint.  NOT!
