Well whatever algorithm it uses results are interesting to read at least :

Linux - Holiness Widowhood, Imperfection, diminution, grief, pain, expectation.

Commodore - Safety, belief, faith, philosophy, Destruction, death, catastrophe.

Apple - Divine favour , Fertility.

Yeah. When inputting "Amiga Inc." it yields Divine favour. But just "Amiga" and one gets the bad stuff. Weird.

I trust only a portion of the kabbalistic numerology--I think other parts are wrong. For example, when some seek to find 'the name of the beast' (the number of the beast, 666), I think it is erroneous.

"Bill Gates"
Old version:
200. LACK OF RESOLUTION
 50. CAPTIVITY FOLLOWED BY LIBERTY, HAPPINESS
  4. RASHNESS, LARGESSE, POWER

New version:
200. Irresolution.
 50. Pardon, liberty.
  4. Solidity, wisdom, power.

:D

Exactly, and the fact that modern Hebrew is so far removed from ancient Hebrew.
Well the language is, the alphabet is the same though. But it doesn't map onto the Latin alphabet in a 1:1 relationship, not even the same number of letters (Hebrew has 22).

As far as I know, you are correct there. The symbols are the same, but the meaning behind words has changed to adopt to the prevailing traditions, such as the word Elohim. Seems to be a lot of dispute around that one.

Anyhow, Hebrew is just an amazing language, the fact that everything was constructed to break down numerically is just amazing.

Anyhow, Hebrew is just an amazing language, the fact that everything was constructed to break down numerically is just amazing.
It wasn't... in fact there's no evidence of the use of Hebrew numerals until the Hellenistic period (~3rd century BC), it seems they got the idea from the Greeks.

The Greeks?! Now this story I have to hear. All I have ever seen was evidence of the Greeks borrowing ideas (sometimes sloppily) from everyone around them, especially the Indians and Egyptians. I love running into conflicting ideas in history!!! :)

INteresting thread. I'm into the esoteric. There is ALOT of symbology in Amiga land.. especially from Chris H of poseidon fame. His name is Platon, you have Deneb, Helios, etc. There is a lot of this in games too like Archon for example.

If you guys are really interested in this subject I highly recommend somehow getting a copy of Manfred P Hall's THE SECRET TEACHINGS OF ALL AGES.

I dont give a lot of weight to Jewish mysticism and Quabbalah in particular but i'm interested in the number systems and matrices
