HXSP-2108P CF adaptor
« on: July 18, 2013, 06:17:54 AM »
I bought an HXSP-2108P CF adaptor not long ago while waiting for my IDE board from MKL. I got the board today and VCC is supplied to the IDE interface via pin 20. The problem is that pin 20 is mission on the adaptor and I need to use the external power. I do not have a flopper power cable Y splitter.

This is the adaptor I bought:

I was looking on the board and it seems that I can add the missing pin and connect it to the +5 line. To be able to do this safely, I need to see how it looks under the connector. Even if this pin is unconnected there might still be a PCB trace to somewhere it shouldn't go. I do not was to desolder the whole connector just to have a look.

Have anyone done this mod to this type of CF adaptor? If I can just add a pin that would be easiest and quickets. Otherwise I have to buy a Y splitter or a new adaptor which has pin 20. It will take time and I want to start playing with the CF card now=)
