ARC utils needed - starting from catch-22...
« on: July 04, 2013, 09:30:05 PM »
Hey there.

So, I have an Amiga 2000 with an HxC2001 and no floppy drives. I also have an A1200 tower that's got a bad floppy drive, apparently.

And I have a pretty bare Amiga 1000 w/ WB 1.3 on HD. I have tied the A1000 to my Mac and can do Z-Modem serial transfers. I want to get the A1000 in a position to successfully un-lha and un-zip files and run ADF2disk to write out disk images.

I have only a copy of lha in sys:c/ but it won't extract anything I feed it. Old?

Can someone point me to a copy of lha that is appropriate for WB 1.3 A1000 68000 with 2MB FAST that is not, itself, archived? Since I am in a catch-22. Can someone help me here?

Thanks!

http://aminet.net/package/util/arc/lha

Dunno if it will work on 1.3 though.

"File is not an object module" when I try to run it... ?

Zmodem transfer, no errors - several tries.

Silly question, but have you tried just unarchiving the lha'd adf's on your Mac before transferring them by zmodem?

I think this is the one you want. Self-extracting archive. Once you've got a working LhA you might want to give the latest a try. Don't know if the newer version works on 1.3, though.

How about moving the working floppy from your A1000 to one of the other machines?
