Which model should I buy between::juggler:

Amiga 3000 - boots fine
Kickstart and workbench disks back to version 1.0 and up to 3.1
keyboard and mouse Plus extension cables
External floppy disk drive
Picasso II 24-bit graphics board
Amiga genlock
AmiGen
Wide to standard VGA adapter
Amiga 520 video to composite adapter
2 MIDI interfaces
Parnet cable
Two wireless joysticks
Two wired joysticks

OR

Video Toaster 2500 Amiga Computer - with additional Accelerator Card. Includes Monitor, Keyboard and Cables. Video Graphics and Video productions. It has a build-in time base correctors and it is used to stabilize video in a multi-camara or decks switching session. It has 120+ fades, wipes, a-b roll, Titles and many other special effects.

I'm looking for expandability (at slow pace, as I'm still on training wheels) and fun factor.

Your recommendations are welcome and thank you for the input.

That is a hard one to decide, both are very similar.
A2500 is easier to expand then A3000.
A3000 has Zorro III slots vs. Zorro II on A2500
A3000 has 2MB chip RAM vs 1MB on A2500 (can be expanded to 2MB for more $$$)
A3000 has VGA out standard.
A3000 can be expanded to 16MB RAM on board vs. add-on cards on A2500.

Video Toaster is nice, but only to play with and kinda useless in HD era, and if you want it anyway, you could get it later.
Actually VT runs better with 2MB chip RAM then 1MB.

Personally I would go with A3000, it a basically an improved A2500, but with less exp slots.

Before purchasing I would check if there is a battery leak on board on both computers.
A500 KS 2.1, 1MB Chip, 68000
A600 KS 3.1, 2MB Chip, ACA630 32MB RAM
A1000 KS 1.3, 8MB RAM
A1200 KS 3.1, Blizzard IV 50MHz 64MB RAM
A2000 KS 2.1, 68030 25MHz, 6MB RAM
A3000 KS 3.1, 68030 25MHz, 16MB RAM
A4000 KS 3.0, 68040 25MHz, 16MB RAM
CDTV KS 3.1, 4MB RAM
CD32
(AROS BOX) Dead :(

I would take 2500.
3000 is smaller and suffers of overheating - it can be glitches on Picasso II
also it is need buster 11 to utilize Zorro III

for 2500 you can take 2060 accelerator with 128 M memeory and A2320 scandoubler
A4000T/060, CV64-3D, 146 GB SCSI

Anything for the 2000 seems to be more expensive though.

I know it has issues, but I would always go for a 4000.

The A3000. It's the complete kit with everything. The A2500 is set up for analog video production and unless you want to play around with the toaster, you won't need most of what it has. An A3000 with a Picasso II is a much better choice to get started with Amigas.
A2500 owned since 1993 with A2630/DKB 2632, DKB Megachip, GVP EGS Spectrum, A2320 and GVP HC+8 on the inside and a DCTV on the outside. A4000D with CSPPC, Cybervision 64 and a Flicker Magic flicker fixer. A4000T Toaster Flyer & CSMKII. All systems completly retro and classic and mostly used to do geometic art as in my avatar.

A2500 for sure.. I have three non-working(who knows why) A3000's.  They seem
troublesome and from an assembly standpoint what a disaster.  A2500 rock solid hardware, lots of room and easy to work on etc.

my2cents..

I would do the 3000, everything you need is already there (030, scandoubler, chip ram, etc) and its, at least for me personally, the best looking Amiga
Amiga 1200/030 50mhz, 64mb ram

Amiga 2000, 030 25mhz, 7mb ram, A2320,  SCSI2CD

Amiga 3000/030 25mhz, CF SCSI card

Amiga 4000/ 040 33mhz 274mb ram

Both systems sound nice. I own multiple systems, perhaps it would be possible to grab them both?

Enjoy whatever you choose and please post lots of pics!

IMO...don't mutilate a 3000 just to fit a toaster in there...you need to cut the chassis to fit. I do have a chassis I'll swap you if you do get the 3000 however. The guy already cut it for a video toaster.
I gots me a Video Toaster...where do I put the bread in ?!?!

I think you can install VT4000 in A3000 w/o cutting. The connector board is adjustable.

I would go for A3000 and change gal chips for cool running and check if ir has buster11 and 16mb of ram already , otherwise go for an A4000 if the price is ok
