Amiga 1200 case/shell wanted
« on: May 21, 2013, 10:04:43 PM »
Hi, I'm toying with the possibility of restoring my brothers old A1200, Just looking for a shell to begin with in perfect or as close to perfect condition as possible with threads in good condition and all fixings and screws.

Restoring the one I have isn't really an option as the threads are ruined. :(

If you don't have one for sale, do you have any idea of where I could get one?

Thanks.

Rob.

Analogic have new UK keyboards, they may be able to supply cases but they are not listed, you could ask them for whatever parts you require.

Keep us posted on your progress when you get it looking good. Might be cheaper to just buy a whole 1200 in good shape, by the time you add all the "goodies". Whatever you do, welcome aboard and take pics if you have the time, (I find build threads interesting for some 4 reason..:D)
I gots me a Video Toaster...where do I put the bread in ?!?!

You could always use a plastic epoxy, drill pilot holes and re-tap the threads... and ofc retrobright if needed. Amigakit has the original sized screws IIRC.

From the picture of the new A1200 keyboard on Analogic's site, it looks to be yellow and used!

... Rest assured though that they are brand new and brilliant white, and I know this because I've bought one myself from Analogic. :)

Loctite (http://www.loctiteproducts.com/threadlockers.shtml) makes products just for this purpose.
