Which Amiga chassi do you find most attractive?

Nowadays it's possible to put high end electronics in low end chassi or low end electronics in high end chassi. And some are not originals at all ;)

You forgot the A3000T vs the A3000D. I prefere the T to the D.

I've only ever seen an A1200, A600 and A500/+ in the flesh... so I had to vote A1200 as there's no option to vote A600. I'm suprised to see the A3000 way ahead. Are they really that sexy?

Hands down for me A1200 or maybe A600. Do you know how many people are amazed the whole computer "is in the keyboard" lol

A3000T looks like a pc server case.

a4000T is pretty damn sweet, that smoked black plastic front is serious biz!

A4000D looks like a pc clone

A3000D looks like a pc clone and is a NIGHTMARE to upgrade or work on

A2000 makes a good boat anchor!

A500 is always cool :)

I wish you would have added the A600.

I know it's considered by many to be the ugly stepbrother, but if you ever owned one, it was just awesome feeling.  If it was AGA, I would have owned a stack of them and put them around the house.

On the A600 Commodore management massacred the arrow + numeric pad and missed AGA. But points for the most compact Amiga chassi ever.

However this is more about what looks good, say A4000 motherboard in A600 chassi etc when the choice is free.

Perhaps one should ask how should a chassi look like to look really Amigish? ;)

So many were saying that the Towers and big box Amigas all looked like PCs and well, it was hard not to.  I have to add to that discussion by saying the Atari Mega STe and TT030 really didn't look like PCs and had nicely designed cases, but they were pretty much crap for expansion.  In fact the only real expansion bus they had was the VME which was hard to find and extremely expensive even when they were being produced.  Now it's downright impossible to find the VME video cards for them.

There weren't much in the way for accelerators either, mainly 'cause the older versions of TOS were crap and really not meant to handle much more than a 68000 until the TT030.

But this is a bit off topic of course, I voted that the A4000T was the best, due to it looking intimidating and being the most expandable.  I love my A4000D, but taking it fully apart is a pain the butt, and I really wish there wasn't so much play in the front.  One of these days I want to get a 3D printer and print up new plastic bits for it.. :D

And the Agami goes to:
Best Wedge: A1200, the ratios are just right.
Best Desktop: A2000, it screams "Bring it".
Best Alternative: CDTV, black, Hi-Fi like, a computer in the living-room, whaaa?

A3000 is sexy, but it feels just like a sexified IBM PS/2.
A4000: Nice, not thrilling but nice. Desktop was too small, Tower was too tall.
CD32: The cheapest cheap that ever cheaped. Right size though.
A500: Don't go outside with it on a windy day.
A1000: Gallant effort but not quite the winner. Keyboard cubby? Pointless gimmick.

Honorable Mentions:
Amiga Walker (Escom): Quirky but grows on you.
Amiga MCC (Gateway): Smooth lines, clearly aimed at the average consumer.
---------------AGA Collection---------------
1) Amiga A4000 040 40MHz, Mediator PCI, Voodoo 3 3000, Creative PCI128, Fast Ethernet, Indivision AGA Mk2 CR, DVD/CD-RW, OS 3.9 BB2
2) Amiga A1200 040 25MHz, Indivision AGA Mk2 CR, IDEfix, PCMCIA WiFi, slim slot load DVD/CD-RW, OS 3.9 BB2
3) Amiga CD32 + SX1, OS 3.1

I've always loved the Enlight AT case used for the A4000T.

A1200 for me with the A500 and A1000.

The A2000 is a beast (will probably turn my knackered one into an AROS machine)

Perhaps something like Akikos box with a large black plastic and a C= logo shaped LED behind it would be neat? or perhaps a red checker boing-ball ;)

The sides could be slightly vobbly to conduct more heat and look neat at the same time with the C= style color white cream.

Guess there's nothing really commodorish, except:
 * The colour scheme with grey keys and white cream chassi
 * The logo C=
 * Bouncing Boing-balls with checker pattern
 * Plastic vents that usually went above the keyboard on wedge models
 * Rounded edges

Ofcourse it says "boing-bom-chack" in Kraftwerk style instead of beep :D

Someone up for something raytraced? ;)

The 3000 without a doubt.  Nothing else looks like it, even the leds they used looked good.

A1000 without doubt. (And I have 4000D, 3000D, 2000, and have used 500s and 1200s.)

@NorthWay,

You have no idea what you are talking about the A1000 was not only the best looking but it had that cool keyboard dock underneath it.

and I have,

A4000D, A3000D, A2000, A1200, A500, A1000, and the CD-32, so pfffft I beat you by one Amiga computer. (Oh if you count Amiga Forever, I have that on my PC)

Just Joking, GOOD CHOICE by you.
I have no idea what your talking about, so here is a doggy with a small pancake on his head.

MorphOS is a MAC done a little better

The 1000 and 3000.  All others don't really rate a spot in a poll about looks.
