I used both the 1000 and 2000 LIVE cards. We didn't capture or convert...
We used them "LIVE"

See, That was how I thought it worked.  Like a modified Gen Lock hopped up on LSD or something... ;)

What did you use it for? The LIVE was just a video capture card.

So by your non answer to my question i got my answer. You havent the faintest clue what you are talking about so should refrain from making authoratative statements about things you dont know about. The LIVE! boards have onboard processors that process the incoming video. This is why you can operate on an amiga 1000, 2000, or 500 STOCK with REAL TIME EFFECTS.

The LIVE board is FAR FROM "Just" a video capture card. Its a realtime effects processor, Proc Amp, and video switcher as well. Its intended for "Live" performance hence the name.

I do know something about computers and electronics. But if the board just realtime process video and then output it directly. Memory is of little concern.

For fun, i looked at the manual...pg 12-2 second paragraph (dated copyright 1986,1987)
"An Amiga with 512K of memory can capture 4 frames; with 2.5 megs you'll be able to store around 55 frames (3.6 seconds) Each frame takes 40k of memory,"...

We used it with Mandala, for live inter action with music and dance.

now we use xbox (go figure)

amiga was years ahead...(sigh) see date of copyright from manual
