Is there any harm in putting the cart before the horse?

I think the enthusiasm is misplaced and demonstrates a clear lack of priorities and the type of business sense that is required to be a success.

As for being productive....I am.   My latest business plan is about 100 pages long, and was proofread by phd in american literature and will be audited by an accountant before I show it to anyone.

am I saying this to make myself look good?  hardly, I complete about 20% of the projects I start, at best.  This project may go nowhere.

I can hardly criticize someone for trying and failing...we learn from mistakes, and I've made many myself, including many business failures, including announcing things too soon.

But what I've learned...is people who spend a lot of time making graphics and announcements are dreamers, and not people who are going to make a business work.

I am not, going to suggest this latest business isn't going to work...hardly.  I happen to like AROS.  I happen to think the community members putting all this together are nice folks, who I enjoy hearing from.
I have no idea whether they are trying to create a buzz, and do, in fact, already have products about ready to launch.

But I suspect not.  My guess would be...they are excited about something new, they have no real plan, and products aren't even close to being tangible yet.

I'll be glad to be wrong.  I call'm like I see them.  If this is dragging everyone down, then I'll leave.  I'm not here to disturb people...in actuality, my comments are meant to be helpful.

I fully understand your feelings. We all feel like that, but remember that Blacktroll has not been announced or launched yet!!

So far all Blacktroll has done is fund stuff. Which is a lot more than some companies/people have done :-D

I think we should all just look on silently wondering whats going on and enjoy the excellent logo and rather cool name ;-)

Logo looks quiet similar to the Gnome one.

Not really since Gnome is left foot and there are more toes then the Black Troll's (right) foot.  I had forgotten about gnome's foot when I first came up on the idea of a foot print.   I'm very happy it turned out so well.  Pays to have a talented artist doing what he does best.
