Cleaning Amiga 1000 keyboard
« on: April 04, 2013, 01:57:04 PM »
I managed to get my A1000 up and running yesterday. I opened a command console and started to type but just a few keys are working. I pressed the escape key and it managed to get stuck is the pressed down position. I opened up the keyboard and it was so dirty! And it has a fair bit of corrosion around the keys on the metal keyholder. To put it like this, it's very dirty and it seems to be a lot of work to clean it. Sigh...

The problem I'm having it seems like the PCB is stuck to the metal plate where the keys are sitting. I loosened all the screws I could find but it won't move. Do I have to loosen each individual keyholder or is there something I'm missing? I'm grateful for all advice.
