A2500...
« on: March 25, 2013, 12:41:00 AM »
Recently acquired an A2000 and a A2500 and really never thought much of the A2000's just being big, not really attractive etc.. but have since have a new fondness for the beasts..

And they are loaded with several good upgrades.. :
A2500:
DKB 2632..
GVP A2000-HC+8
Supra Corp SupraRAM 2000 (8meg)
Super Denise
2meg Agnes..
A2320 Display Enhancer

A20000:
Supra Corp 68K ACCELERATOR (An oddly shaped card, never seen before, sits horizontal
in the slot, see pic).

**just adding pics..
***added one more..

It's shaped that way because they used the same board for the A2000 and A500 version of it. The A500 version of it sits in a case and attaches to the side expansion connector.

Congrats on the find! I'd be interested to hear how you get on with the DKB 2632. I got one in a 2500 I acquired and it's very, very unstable. Hope you have better luck with yours!

Your A2500 has almost everything mine has, minus a GVP EGS Spectrum and plus the Supra ram card. The HC+8 does the same thing and you can just put simms in it and pull the Supra card. Are you sure it has 8mb? The most Zorro II ram you can have in an A2000/A2500 is 8mb and the 2630 card usally has 2 or 4mb of 32 bit ram which is mapped into the 8gb of Zorro II ram space. The 2632 makes it possible to have a decent amount of ram in an A2500. They are extremely rare and you really scored in getting an A2500 with one.
A2500 owned since 1993 with A2630/DKB 2632, DKB Megachip, GVP EGS Spectrum, A2320 and GVP HC+8 on the inside and a DCTV on the outside. A4000D with CSPPC, Cybervision 64 and a Flicker Magic flicker fixer. A4000T Toaster Flyer & CSMKII. All systems completly retro and classic and mostly used to do geometic art as in my avatar.

I have three and guess I am lucky, but they all work perfectly and only thing I have ever replaced were the batteries.

True tanks and with a 68060 & RTG its a pretty amazing machine for being 26 years old.

Congrats on your find!

Really enjoy my 2000-60 at 64 Mhz and Picasso II.

I am amazed at how fast it boots and its response time.

Enjoy the 2000s !

Great pics!  Think you've got enough floppy drives there?  I thought Amiga only supported a max of 4, LOL.  ;)

Odd, I used my 2632 with 128mb of ram for years without problems.

Same here, I've never had any problems with it, both starting from the shell after Workbench loaded, or putting it in the startup-sequence.
