i was curious how long bbond007 had been on the list, but yeah, i was on it for months, too. this hasn't been a brilliant method of ordering an X1000. i know why they're doing it, but as a customer, it's a bit frustrating.

the only thing i can tell you is that out of the blue a few months back, i got an email saying i could place my order. 'course it was too late for me by then. if i were you, and i was really set on an X1000 and not one of the SAM machines, i'd email them, phone them, open a ticket on their site, whatever was necessary to find out where i was on the list.

having used the X1000 several times at amiwest shows past, it's an unbelievably good machine. it's definitely worth the wait in my opinion. good luck!

Yes you are the only one who is waiting for one

Sorry could not resist :)

The classic scene on the other hand is really showing some interesting signs of life, with new software, new FPGA hardware and even updates to the original OS (eg the amazing new icon.library).

:)

LOL..  nice joke.

I've actually owned every Amiga including the A3000T (which on record is the heaviest machine i've owned) but i just have an A4000 which i love,  i did have an A4000T CyberstormPPC which I sold to a scientist in Germany they needed the machine for speciality programs on 68k and PPC side.
I've been an Amiga owner since I was 16, i'm now 41.. it's great to see hardware and support for classic Amiga's.. just wish someone would make a realy fast 060 accelerator card.. even the CD32 is missing out.

Thank you for all your comments and advise.  I know amiga dealers do a great job..  we wait...

AmigaKit have sent me a message,  maybe they find my trails of emails again.

Someone has already developed a 100Mhz+ real 060 card using modern fast memory but that is not available for a real classic machine unfortunately (FPGA Arcade only).

People have just started to develop FPGA based accelerators so maybe one day we'll get some new fast 060 (FPGA) accelerators.
Life begins at 100 MIPS!

Nice Ports on AmiNet!

ah now I see why the usual suspects haven't been trashing OS4.x threads lately:cool:

@ NovaCoder

I love whats happening in both the classic and NG scenes over the past few years as I have my Amiga 1000, 1200 and AmigaOne X1000 getting constant updates and new stuff to try out on a monthly (sometimes weekly) basis:biglaugh:

@ erol

I've had a Samflex@800 before getting my X1000 and can tell you that my old Samflex struggled while running more intense AGA games or rendering scenes in either Blender or Lightwave so if you want to go for a Sam I'd get the Sam460 /AmigaOne 500 as many users have noted a significant speed increase over the Samflex models.

Don't worry Erol.
I'm sure you will receive it.
And everyone that I know that has one is very satisfied.

Its a unique system that should hold its value for years longer then a Rpi.
And when 3D drivers are ready...its going to be so cool.

completely no personal attack or trolling in his post, in contrary to some other posts that immediately need to blame some "usual suspects" for spoiling fun of os4 users and the like.
btw, the thread title is "Question to all Amiga owners" so who would ever expect something particularly os4 related here..

Quite happy with my A1200, well no USB yet but getting there. :-) Besides more fun trying to fit it all into a wedge.

The only thing about the classic Amiga is the crap browser, otherwise it would be very usable as an everyday computer. Which I'm almost doing, apart from my CF Card problems I've decided to go back to a laptop HDD.

You need a GFX card to enjoy web browsing on classic amiga,AGA is showing its age.

You need to wait that Arthur gets Netsurf compiled  http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=68233

I belicve that Arthur would appreciate any help he can get.

I really curios to se how it works. Most important thing would be that I can download stuff with my 68k amigas again. Netsurf is really fast with my Flex, so I would wait it to be useable with 060, maybe even 040

I haven't test 68k programs much, just some system friendly apps and games. Whit those I have tested petunia is surpricinly fast. So EUEA is almost completely untested by me, some Defender of the crown playing and thats it.

I like to watch some TV-series with it, they are usual avi stuff and not HD, so Sam plays them easily. Net surfing is pleasent experiense, with any browser, even Timberwolf wich biggest flaw is slow startup. All this actually came to me as a surprice, I waited situation be quite much worse. Because there is been much talk how powerless and poor machine 440ep is

Hi,

@eliyahu,

Who did I personally attack, or what kind of troll did I put out, and in all retrospect just how old are you?

If you have been around Commodore products for a while, then you would know that they did it right when they brought out their first couple of computers by supporting them.

Don't you see the problem with todays hardware hitting the streets, they bring out high priced hardware associated with the Amiga name, but after that there is no support, maybe you like buying hardware with no real programs or software support, but I for one an really getting sick of this history associated with the Amiga name.

This WOW!!! I am now a moderator and I have the power to throw you out because I don't like what you say is just plain loony, so ban me if you want, I really don't care.

If you have noticed here lately, all the real old timers have left for better pastures, and really don't care about Amiga.org that much. I try to help with problems when I see one, and I think all these companies that bring out hardware and no support, are just wasting people's time and money for the Amiga community.

If you don't want experience, and I have been with the Amiga since the very first week it hit the market, and have owned every Amiga model out there, including selling to some big names during the late 80's and also developing commercials with an Amiga 2000, I know the needs for good software support.

Can you tell me your history with the Amiga?

Now that I have attacked you

Bye

Amiga World awaits.

smerf
I have no idea what your talking about, so here is a doggy with a small pancake on his head.

i think it is really not a proper way to moderate, deleting (clarifying) posts of people like smerf.
