Amiga 4000 ROM replacement question
« on: March 08, 2013, 03:00:26 AM »
I am upgrading my A4000D ROMs from 3.0 to 3.1. So far, I have taken the old ROM out and I am ready to install the new ROM, but I am not sure which Chips go where. One says "A4000 V175" and the other says "A4000 V176".

These were the ones that were already installed:

In D16-D31: 9246 23C2100-1041 319513-02
In D0-D15: 9242 23C2100-1042 319514-02

Any ideas?

Thanks

EDIT: Just found the text printed on the board. Amazing what you can find by removing 20 years of dust!

I think that it says "U175 & U176" and if the notch is oriented correctly, then you have a 50% chance of getting right the first time and a 100% chance on the second try.
