You think it's the wrong adapter type then ? Hm.
Well, it says, 2.5" to 3.5" ide adapter (my ide2cf adapter which holds my cf card is 2.5" and my ide68k ide connector is 3.5"), so I thought I was buying the right thing.

You got me puzzled now ...

But wait, the product description says:

"For connecting 2.5" harddrives to eg. Via ITX mainboards (Standard IDE)"

My cf card is mounted on a cf2ide adapter which has a 2.5" (44 pin) ide connector, hence, it's like a real 2.5" HD drive, whereas my ide68k has a 40 pin (Standard IDE) connector and to my conclusion, the adapter should be of the rigtht kind. Er ... right ? Anyone ? :)

Beats me...
I've been lost since the beginning of page two :D

EDIT:
Tell us the types of connectors (male or female). Adapters can have both.

I'd say: no WB, just AmigaDOS to save every byte for WHDLoad!
That's how I use my A600, my Minimig and my A1200 :)

Wow! Kipper2K is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But wait, can u really plug all that stuff into an A500 and it works?

1. A500
2. A500 CPU Adapter.
3. 8MB RAM Expansion
4. IDE68K

All that ? Has anyone done it?

And could u also add one of his CF Adapter cards to that if you wanted?
(A normal hard drive is good for me but some ppl want CF cards.)

Also, does all that stuff work in an A2000? Does Kipper2K have an A2000?

Actually my A2000 already has 9MB in it so I would not want the memory expander board. And its an A2000 so I would not need the cpu adapter right? I could just plug in the IDE68k and go, right? If only I knew how to solder :(

Perhaps you (I :) ?) should buy this thing:
http://www.kupindo.com/Kontroleri/11472345_Adapter-CF-na-IDE-3-5-

And skip the suscpicious adapter.

I like that.
If I can find a US supplier I may have to buy one for my Quicksilver.
It would allow me to boot morphOS then immediately switch to an SCSI drive.

Plus it plugs directly into the motherboard.
They only problem is the need to use a floppy to molex power adapter.

This is a great adapter :)
I even installed Windoze XP on a CF card for fun :D
For power, I think Amiga can use this:

You know what's bugging me, Lord Aga ? The suggested adapter has a female IDE 40 pin connector, the same as a 40 pin IDE cable that came in a box, along with my ide68k. I don't think this is the adapter I need.

Maybe something like this instead ?

http://www.buyincoins.com/new_en/details/dual-cf-to-40-pin-ide-3-5-male-hard-drive-adapter-product-721.html

Anyone ? Is there anyone owning ide68k who can tell me which cf2ide adapter should I buy ? Please ...

Thanks.

Well, "my" adapter goes straight into the 40 pin IDE port. No cables necessary.
But I don't know if this is possible inside the A500. Is there room ?
If not, the go with that other adapter + cable for additional flexibility :)

Same thing with 2.5 adapters for A1200/A600. There are some that go straight on mobo's 44 pin. And some which require a cable, but are more flexible to move around.
