Jason McMullan worked and sis till woring hard to enhance AROS m68k and the emulation side. Fabio Falcucci is proving again the flexibility of the Hollywood language.
We will keep you informed on the project page.

I'd suggest you invest your time in something more interesting.

Classic Amiga future is in FPGA technology, not in software emulation.

Gotta agree here this is really just a PC thats been nicely configured to run a bunch of different operating systems and emulators. I notice in the video there is an option to run windows.

1) windows is not "open" in the commonly accepted sense
2) when you say it will run "windows" games does that mean ALL versions of windows -- and will the unit have licenses for all versions of windows needed

If you had designed some actual hardware that could real Nintendo cartridges or similar you might actually be onto a winner. This "console / PC " doesnt do anything most of cant already do with our cheapo laptops from PC world and a copy of ubuntu  - Count me out!

Yes we will complying with the GPL and will offer a download of GPL sources. The UI isn't GPL, nor the bootloader is GPL. Nor LX is GPL.

Yes it is based on PC-architecture. XBOX was too. Next XBOX and PSX are rumored to be also AMD APU based.

The INDIEGO is also a STEAM Box.
For Windows compatibility we use WINE. Which others do "commercially" too.

If the funding will be succesfull we can lower the price so that no one here can continue arguing to get the same stuff the anywhere cheaper.

Secondly we are "working" on the UI which will be exclusive. Jason makes AROS68k comptabile to CD32 and rewrites the CD Handler.

So what we offer is a "console" feeling from powering on, easy access to games from nearly any CD-based system. Access to STEAM and Onlive.

So what? Amiga is only a fraction of the whole package but I thought the one you would care about the most ; )

AN FPGA has no horepower. With a powerful CPU you can emulate an classic Amiga with the power to play modern media. Think about that.

AROS68k wit OWB and HTML5 support, an updated mplayer and you have the true nexgen Amiganoid. My 2 cents.

YES! I love physical media for collection purposes.
But take a look at this:

This plugs into the USB of a Windows machine, extracts the ROM and assign the ROM file to an emulator.
So, you're "using" your physical media without the feeling of "the real thing".
-> Your collectible physical media gets even more "used" without the real benefit of it.



This is a MEDIA where you insert TONS of ROMS on it and you can plug it on real hardware.
No use of real collectible media and you get the "real experience".

Guess which one is more popular?

At the end of the day, you're asking 700k EURO to create a PC that automatically dumps physical media and associate it with an emulator...

The 700000 are symbolic. We would have around 3500 preordered systems.. an number to work with : )

The first magic number to reduce the cost is 100 sold systems. 1000 the next one... more sold systems = lower price. Even more sold systems = lower price and better HW.

I think even the 349 including shipping in EU is really cheap, for exact that case and that spec and the offered unique UI.

It boots faster than a common PC, it is easy to use with a Pad but supports Keyboard mouse too. You won't see Linux. But you could bring Ubuntus desktop back. We don't dictate which store you should use to download/buy games what others like ouya do. The system cost 3x more than ouya but offers 10x more.
More performance (6x faster CPU compared to tegra3)
More flexibility
It can be used as MediaCenter (remote, pad, keyboard, Mouse)
It is a gaming console
A steam box
And you will be able to play the latest and greatest games till you die via Onlive.
So it will get not outdated.

I think it is a good offer but i can't force anyone to buy : p

Well i had SD-cards, CD/DVD in mind.
I collect CD32/Wii/Gamecube/Dreamcast/NeoGeoCD/PCengine/SegaCD/Saturn/Playstation(2d/2,5dShmups)/JaguarCD/CDi and so on.. so that was what I had in mind.

But the rom backer is cool too.
BTW.. if you use the right DVD-ROM you can read some wired formats from some console too... hind hind

Have been watching this for awhile on the Facebook page. To be honest I'll be giving it a pass.

I can build my own PICO PC and do something similar. For a lot less than the $530 NZD it works out at if you go by the perks bar.

This paragraph bugs me too. I don't see anything special about there being a SD card slot and a DVD RW drive in a PC.

And blue ray is spelt (spelled if you are in states) Blu-Ray.

I do like this comment, but the Ouya allows you to stream any PC game so I can run steam on my PC and play it on the Ouya.

It cost me $180 NZD all up including the shipping for the Ouya. It cost me more because I pre ordered from their website not through kickstarter so had to pay for a second controller.

Ouya also supports bluetooth so pairing a keyboard and mouse should be easy to do. I plan on trying to pair my PS Vita with it.

I have my fingers crossed for a UAE port, which should be easy enough as there is a UAE for Android already.

After all Ouya will be running Jellybean.

Onlive is also supported by the Ouya, and can also be used as a media centre.....

The first beta machines will be chipped end of march.

But I don't want a chipped beta machine.  Sure beta has higher resolution than VHS but that isn't the problem.  the problem is that I only like unchipped machines.  Sometimes the Chinese child working in the slave labor camp will not get his full 4 hours of sleep the night before and he will hit the chisel too hard with her hammer and the chip will be too deep or all jagged.  :razz: :biglaugh:

Actually it would be $550 + Forgot to ad shipping and there's probably pay pal fee's or such like depending on what payment options you take for the indiego. Then as it's $500 there will be import taxes etc at my end :-(

use your favorite input! Use your favorite device from your favorite vendor. Use a Wiimote... use a Competition Pro Joystick.. use whatever you like to use. No barriers. Your choice. Your individiuality.  

So your machine will include 2 PS/2 ports so I can plug in my PS/2 mouse and PS/2 keyboard?

I only buy computers that allow PS/2 keyboards and PS/2 mice.

Any computer that is racist and bans PS/2 keyboards and mice gets NO MONEY FROM ME.

Well i like that a machine can playback the stuff for its own.
The INDIEGO could stream the media also to a touchpad and vice versa.
But the thing has enough power to run games without the need of an extra PC.

I know.. "you say it is a PC" : )
If i run WiiLinux my Wii is a PPC-PC too. An XBOX with Linux is a PC.

Why would you stream from your PC to Ouya? Not straight to TV?
Can Ouya play a DVD? Always a PC in the background?

I like to have one device which is all in one. Onlive is nice but as long the machine can run it online (native) it is my preferred method.
Buy, install/collect and replay whenever you like.

Next consoles will block used games for example.. wow what a user oriented move.
