Reminder about LhA 2011 bug
« on: February 02, 2013, 04:03:42 PM »
As you may recall, older versions of LhA have a bug that causes file datestamps for years 2011 or higher to roll over back to 1980.

Newer versions of LhA correct this, but I've noticed a lot of archives I've recently downloaded from Aminet and elsewhere seem to have been packed using an older version. Please remember to update your copy of LhA. OS4, 68K, and WarpOS versions are available on Aminet (the first 3 files). MorphOS includes an updated LhA out-of-the-box, and I assume AROS has a new version somewhere as well :)

Thanks!

Either that, or the files have actually travelled back through time into 1980, then re-emerging in the present. Is there any way of disproving this theory?

I tried the date bug fixed version and it crashed repeatedly so I went back to the date bug version. :(

I trust you informed Sven of this two years ago when it was released?

I assumed the beta testers had already done this and the author should have known about it a long time ago.

Don't assume.  You're the only person I've ever seen complain about LhA crashing, chances are it's something particular to your system and the author isn't aware.
